Title: two special restaurants
Post by: pinky386 on July 18, 2010, 20:42:42 PM
Hi

Can any one recommend two special restarants for two birthday meals
whilst we are in calis. If the restaurants are in Feithye we would
no doubt get dolmus there so would anyone be able to point us in
the right direction as to where the restaurants are once we get off.

Many Thanks

Mozaic Bahce

When you get off the dolmus cross the road, and walk in the same direction as the dolmus was travelling. Cross first junction. At next junction turn right. Turn right at the new Dominio Pizza place and its 50 metres on tour right. (It's opposite the Ramadan Clothes shop)

If anyone who knows where the restuarant is and thinks those directions are no good feel free to correct them

The  Yacht Classic Hotel in Fethiye.  It's right along the front passed the ruins and pass the Rhodes Ferry.  Lovely food and great setting you sit right at the water with a view of the sea, the mountains and the yachts.  After dark there are underwater lights and you can watch the fish swimming by.   It was also really good value as we expected it to be a lot more expensive than it was.

If you both like fish, there's no experience like the fish market, choosing your fish and dining under the stars. We always go to Recep's restaurant in the fish market. If one of you likes fish you can get a steak or whatever. If neither of you like fish it would be a silly place to go for a romantic night :D

Jacqui, the Yacht Classic restaurant sounds nice - we had a look round the hotel when we were over in June and were very impressed.  Do you have to book or can you just walk in ? and are the prices on par with other places ?

We booked it as it was our Anniversary and we got there about 8.00pm and got a table right at the waters edge, however, there were plenty of walk-in's during the evening so I don't think it's vital to book.  Prices where really reasonable, we thought it would be much more expensive. We had drinks on arrival a beer and G.&.T. Two lovely courses with a couple of glasses of wine and then a cappuccino and an Irish coffee bill was 93 lira bill included a service charge.  I have to say the service and food where 5 star without the 5 star prices. If you want a special night out..this is the place ;)

Not the same place, you are referring to the new Hotel, Yacht Boutique.  We went to the Yacht Classic.  It's strange how in Turkey this happens you get a successful business, like Serkul One then some one opens Serkul Two, or you get a lovely place like Yaka Park and someone opens a place of the same name next door. It all confuses the tourists and I am sure it would not be allowed in the U.K. :-\

Yes, we had decided to try the Sundial and emailed to book a reservation for our Anniversary last June, which was on a Wednesday. We eventually heard back(after 3 days and three emails) that they were fully booked for a Wedding.  Good job we did not just turn up on the night, as we believe it's a bit of a trek to get up there anyway.   However, we were not disappointed with the Yacht Classic, and we will be going back there on our next visit.

Happy Monday   The Yacht Classic is a little bit further up the hill from the other Yacht hotel.  It is opposite a mosque.

Sorry hillside,as a regular visiter to Yacht classic and the other family owned hotel now call Yacht boutique, their chefs and menu are superior.Plus the view from yacht boutique dining terrace is unbeatable. But have to admit I'm a yachty,so could be biased. Anyway good eating

I heard that several times when we were over, very sad as it was one of the best we'd eaten in over there. The reports were enough for us not to even risk it.

Strange is'nt it...
Most times I can go to a restaurant in the UK have a great meal and go back months or years later and still have a great meal.
In Turkey you are lucky if you can go back a day later and have the same consistancy.

We always go to the Kale for lunch as it's nice to sit and look at the view while we eat.  This year we went for our first visit and we ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad which we always love.  It was a totally different meal, no crispy toasted bread around it, no great big shavings of parmesan.  Just a great amount of lettuce leaves a small amount of chicken and a sprinkle of parmesan which looked like breadcrumbs.  It  was so disappointing.  I think they must have changed the Chef.

They've certainly changed something - not a patch on the restaurant that opened a few years back. Only thing they havent ruined in the view!

The King's Garden (by the tombs) seems to be very popular at the moment, haven't eaten there ourselves so cannot comment, several neighbours have and say the food is excellent, and although much smaller the same stunning views over the town !

The Yacht Classic was previously the Yeni Yacht & has been completely refurbished over the winter. It's just before the start of the dual carriageway as you head towards Karagozler. The Yacht Boutique was originally the Yacht, the reason for the similarity of names is that both are owned by the same family.

So in a nutshell the Yacht Classic was the Yeni Yacht and the Yacht Boutique was the Yacht. :D
