Title: Martin O'Neill
Post by: Highlander on August 10, 2010, 08:10:04 AM
Big news story yesterday but nothing on here.

Is it perhaps because of the disappointment of the World Cup, people don't seem to have the same enthusiasm for the game.

I think that has something to do with it. I was interested to hear on TalkSport recently from England fans who are going to the match this week - nearly all are going because it is their opportunity to boo and let the team know exactly how they feel about the World Cup. Sounds daft at first but as they said it is the only way they can let Capello and the rest know their feelings.

As for O'Neill, he is obviously a very ambitious man and when every breaking Villa story is a player on the way out, you know things aren't going well. A huge mistake to let him go.

Dont blame him going really, but it leaves the top 4-6, even wider open now, gonna be an interesting season me thinks. ;)

Martin O'Neil. I have never been a fan of him to be honest.Yes nice enough and polite guy I guess.Talks a good game like so many others.
But he has done nothing in all the years as a manager to put him up there with the likes of great managers like Mick McCarthy  :)

The sad thing is that I think his career is now already in decline. I don't believe that he will now get a tilt at one of the really big jobs.

I think Celtic fans might disagree with that.
