You will have to go from Istanbul Lance - either direct or via Dubai. Have a word with Lama Travel in Fethiye. Don't be put off by the name, they book flights for humans rather than mammals of the Artiodactyla order of Camelidae family.

Going for a special holiday Lance ;-)

I'm pretty sure Turkish Airways fly into Bangkok having seen their planes on the ground there. Might even be direct from Istanbul.

Lance - whichever way you get there, Thailand is just brilliant.  Probably the friendliest, funniest, most open people we have met!!   Enjoy:-))

I'm off to Thailand in November and just so excited. I hope Lance is going before me and does some of his legendary reports, then I can leave my Lonely Planet book at home!
When are you going Lance?

Don't be ridiculous Puma. If Lance was looking for a Thai bride he'd be asking about flights to Malaysia.

When wondering whether to holiday in Thailand I was told if you like Turkey you will definitely like Thailand. I went and they were right. The country is beautiful and the people charming. The young women are beautiful but the men not so. Maybe that is why so many european men go to find a bride, sort of the reverse to Turkey.

If any of you need any pointers we've been over 3 times in the past 2 years and my son is living in Chiang Mai.

Not sure about Thai brides though ;-)
