Title: dolmus driver
Post by: welshbrickie on September 15, 2010, 19:24:34 PM
I dont know his name,He drives a well looked after dolmus with blue undercarrige lighting, and a air horn borrowed from bo and luke duke in the dukes of hazzard.
But very impressed with his driving,He as the uncanny ability to drive at mach 2 go round corners on 2 wheels and the ability to brake so hard that your brain feels like it will fall out your eyes.
Also has reclined seated,I suspect they were upright when manufactured.Has anyone else witnessed his amazing talent? ;)

Some of them drive like nutters, they are either too slow or just bomb it, no surprise there are so many accidents there,
What does a driving test involve over there,I wonder.

We were told by a Turkish lady that in Turkey they learn in special place that is private and off road, where they also take their tests.  We had always assumed as there were no "L" plates that people just applied for a license.  So what is the truth?

They also learn off road and take the test on a private track. The problem is that this test has only been enforced in the last few years. Lots of people pass their test then dont drive again for many years so they end up learning all over again. Another problem is that around 10 years ago and before you could get a license by just slipping a wad under the table and never having to get behind a wheel in the first place. A lot of this generation who got their liceses this way are still around hence you see most of the accidents and stupidity from older drivers.

They have a very big theory test and have to attend lessons for this for quite a long time, learning first aid, how a car works etc, but the actual driving test is very short. If you can start stop and turn the car you pass!!
