Title: New Law for Apartment /shared grounds Owners
Post by: Denise40 on September 23, 2010, 05:42:23 AM
It looks like a new law is now in place for apartment/shared ownership called 'The Condominium Law' making it a legal requirement to orgainise the maintenace and costs to be shared equally in regards common areas, more in line with UK rules on leasehold/freehold flats.
There is good information on www.fethiyetimes.com

agreed Mark - it is simply raising awareness of what should be happening, if you are lucky enough to be on a complex where evryone agrees.

It does work for everyone, but as is the case with many laws in Turkey you need to first know about it and second implement it!

Yep we implemented 3 years ago, if anyone doesn't pay up we simply take 'em to court. We're now at the stage where only one owner will be in court next month (for the 3rd year running) he pays roughly 3 x what he would need to if he paid on time. No we don't get it either!
