Wow very interesting, but sadly so many stories like his are around

I suppose it's the old 'do it differently when you are abroad' syndrome. I do feel for anyone who gets done this way but the same would probably happen in the UK if you let someone live in your property without a written contract.
Or am I missing something and there was a contract signed by both parties?
I also assume the guy was prepared to declare this income to the tax authorites - or is that why no contract was ever written and signed?

The website is perhaps unsurprisingly anti-Turkish, given the experience of the author. But it is not a problem caused specifically by Turks by any means. British people can also be quite happy to do this to other people and their property. Just ask Linda and Carl :(

I remember that one Keith.

I wasn't really referring to the story, it was more or less the production of a website to get a story across. forums are all very well and good but tend to bury a story between the jokes and remarks.
With so many experiencing 'runaway' builders, loses and other scams it looks like an idea where websites could share links.
Stories like Woody "CrazyDave", the likes of Lale Homes multi selling, Sunset apartments and Bev and Nez (Holiday Homes from Hell) story, then anyone wanting to put it on a forum could put the links to Assured Estates for buying with the money safe.
I just hate hearing stories of people losing their hard earned money or winning court battles but still end up the losers.
