Hoping someone can offer some advice on the best place and the cheapest way to see a Dr if you have residency and also some idea of general consultation charges. A friend has been tothe Health Centre at Calis today and they are charing 125tl just to see people!
Thanks

We saw an ENT specialist at Esnaf hospital 55tl then a follow up appintment to see the dermatoligist was 25tl then saw her again 2 weeks later no charge 2nd time.
You can take 2 passport photo's to get a discount card, not sure of the discount given as we have not got one yet.

Thanks - the price quoted by Calis Health Centre included a 20% discount for residents - will go to the Esnaf and register I think. If anyone has any other suggestions all are welcome :-)

Devlet Hospital has translators. Go to the 'Can we help you' desk in main reception. To see doctor 15.50tl very cheap. The translator will give you an appointment number and approx time to attend and she will come with you to see the doctor. Best time to get appointment 8.30am I have used this hospital several times, very busy but very helpful.

I had to go to Esnaf a few nights ago, I arrived at 11.30pm. I had severe pain in my back and stomach, when I got there I was seen by a doctor straight away within 5 minutes I had an examination, bloods taken, a urine sample and an xray. These confirmed I had kidney stones. I was put on a drip and given an injection for the pain, after a few hours I was given another injection and told I could go home pain free, but had to come to see the Uroligist at 10am that morning. I went straight in when I arrived he examined me and sent me for a scan to trace where the stone was, I was prescribed 5 different medicines and told to come back in 10 days unless I passed the stone (he said I will know if I have!!!)
I do not pay for any follow up appointments. The total cost at the hospital was 290tl when I needed xray bloods scan etc thet tell you the price. It cost me a further 36tl for the medicine ( I called my sister who is a pharmacist in the UK to check what I had been given which was all good, the medicines would have been £36 back home) The service was excellent I had an english speaking nurse with me all the time.

Been to esnaf and the service was superb. Seen by Consultant treated same day (minor op in theatre) results in 8days 2 further meetings with consultant. Price @400YTL. Hubby appt with ENT X3 only charged 55YTL No problems encountered with service, translator in attendance. Would definately recommend Esnaf from my own experience :) C

Mark I do not envy you one bit I had the same problem some years ago, so I know the pain your in, the nurse told me at the time its the nearest pain for a man, that a woman has to suffer whilst giving birth, I was on morphine, I did not pass the stones natures way, I wish you all the luck in the world mate, take care. ;)
-
Sorry to hear that Mark, hope you will pass the stone. My husband had the same problem about 15 years ago and I have never seen him in such pain. The Doctor was at our house at 3.00am in the morning and had to come back at 7.00am to give my husband a morphine injection. So good luck, get better soon.

Thanks for the kind word I am never more than 3 feet away from my morphine just incase!!!
The easiest way is on the new part of Fethiye prom it is about 200m past macdonalds going towards Calis, down a side street not far from across from the heads monument.
