Well what can I say good old sat comes up trumps again....Not....
Sauntered down the Sat for a change as Surf Cafe is our favourite most days, but thought let's not be boring and all that .....got sun beds , nice, lay there for an hour at which time 6 or 7 young children started to tun riot, screaming shouting!, Stu and I thought..ah time for lunch!!, ordered 2 Efes asked for a menu, sat down to decide what we wanted, Stu went yo the bar to order only to be told NO lunch food as they have a wedding later !!!!!
Question being, why hand the menu out???
A notice saying no lunch food would not have been a bad idea.
It's not the first time we have been here and had problems and considering it's probably the most expensive place certainly to drink if not eat...we have drawn a line and will give them a big miss next time........big thumbs done Shat.....
-
I went there every day last week, only problem was the sunbeds, most were split down the length, if you're paying extra for food etc, the least they can do is provide working sunbeds?
Lying on those bean bags was being in bed, so comfy!
-
Jenny, yes you are correct the fabric ones are all split and a lot if the plastic ones are broken....we had bean bags and they are lovely but get that at surf cafe...so really no contest.when the waiter collected our glasses he said more beer, I said 'no' but lunch would have been nice...he just walked off...enough said...surf cafe every time for us....
-
Will try Surf def next time, walked almost to it this time, but made it as far as the horses and thought I will come back tomorrow as it was really hot and I had a banging head, but I didn't!
-
Must admit we've never been fans of Sat since it first opened. Lovely location and all that but service, food and prices have always been totally inconsistent.
Too often we ordered food only to be told it is "not available today"...and when it was "available" it was nothing to write home about:(
In fact at one time even the offer of a free Xmas meal, paid for by Hanel House, couldn't persuade us to go back:-\

Ermm, I had good reason? If you hadn't made me ride 10k to Fethiye on that bike, I may have been awake to walk next day!
Priced gel saddle covers in Argos- only £9.99, will def be getting one next year!! 8)

Were is Sat beach club located?
-
It's the last stop if you turn left when entering the prom
-
It's one place that never enters my head to eat at anymore. I wouldn't risk a disastrous evening just because the view is nice. Give me the Sahil Lokatasi and the view of the Migros lights any day of the week :D
-
we had a few days out there in August/September and loved every one! the beach club was lovely and we managed to find a couple of unbroken deckchairs. We ate there at the restaurant each time and it was fab , views service and food- however we couldnt do it everyday as the bill for the 4 of us was huge! Mind you we did have several bottles of wine at 45ytl ( didnt realise!) so not suprising really! Just as well we were feeling no pain when the bill came!
-
I only go to use the bean bags as beach so rubbish!
Have lunch there and never had a problem, plus this time I saw dolphins twice and 2 pelicans sunbathing on a sunbed each!!
-
i thought everyone referred it to as the shat bar?
-
How lovely Jenny to see dolphins in their natural environment, reckon I will give this place a try in two weeks time in the hope I see some dolphins in the sea, weather permitting hope it stays hot!
-
The sun lougers, although new at start of the season, seem to have been a waste of money. I was shocked to see the state of them when I returned in September. However, I wont have to look at them again after paying 24 lira for an Efes and a "featured mojito cocktail" which contained little or no alcohol. When I questioned the bill, the cr4ppy mojito was 18 lira!!!!
I nearly gave the waiter one of these....... 8)

hi where abouts is the Surf Cafe !
-
Wrong thread Steven, but its the opposite end from the Sat. Turn right at promenade and walk for approx 1 mile.
:D

Nahh Surf Cafe is mentioned :P

We've been to Sat every time we've been to Calis - and normally a couple of times in each holiday. We love it, but from reading the forum, I think we're the only ones! We love the view, and the food's always been nice, if probably a little expensive. And a couple of years ago they made a cake for my mum's birthday, which was lovely.
I guess the world would be a boring place if we all liked the same things! Looking forward to a trip there this year!
-
Rumour has it that it is an ilegal build so it may be bye bye shat soon :D
-
Went to Sat Beach Club on Sunday after visit to market only reason ever to go to Calis.Had wonderful Turkish breakfast buffet was huge tea coffee filled constantly .Wonderful service and full of Turkish familys all enjoying the sun.20 Lira each great value will be going back.
-
Wonder why this place is so hit and miss? We had two hits but then two misses and never went back. We did visit in the evenings so perhaps the days are better? I remember on the last visit how cold the food was when it was served and we did complaint. So I suspect a day time visit and perhaps a salad would be a good bet.
-
we went on Saturday asked for a nescafe and a cappucino. Out came a nescafe and a tea. Very busy with Turkish families.Nice vibe there but I have also heard that like Kale Park it is an illegal build.
-
rob took me there for a romantic meal, it was mediocre and ended up at the soup kitchen later on because we were starving
-
We will be saving up so that we can enjoy a few long 'lunches' there in September! Wonder if the Angora is still 45ytl a bottle? really must learn to have shorter lunches!
