Does anyone know if the Bakers has closed down, or just renovating? Bulldozers are in the square knocking the existing one down.

Just been told by Erhan that there is a new three story building going up which will comprise of a bakers, a cafe and a shop. Problem yok.

As I understand it, the empty cafe on the corner is at the present time being pulled down and a new building erected, the top floor being reserved by the council for villagers use.Also some talk of redevelopment of the left hand side of street adjacent to the tea shop.Progress ?

I have seen the new project plans in Belediye...This will be a very nice traditional building which will provide a good focal point for the town.

spent time with the baker in August, took lots of photos of him and Mrs Baker.    Looks like I was just in time - hope the new bakery keeps to the traditional fires etc, it won't be the same without the enormous log pile to scramble over.  Lovely people and beautiful bread.....oh, Uzumlu please don't change too much, we love you as you are. [:X]
