If you live in Tasyaka anywhere near the university can you keep you eyes out for a brown & white medium sized female dog wearing a red collar & beige flea collar. Her name is Elsa she is 11.5 years old & is virtually blind. She got out of our complex & has been missing for over 24 hours. I have searched high & low & realise that she may not be alive now ( she is actually very sick with liver problems so I dont know whether she has taken herself off to die as she never misses a meal ) but even so I would like to recover her body if I can. If anyone can tell me how to add pictures I would be grateful
-
There is a guide to adding pictures, you have to upload to something or other and then add it to your topic. Easier than it sounds, but, I always have to read what to do, before I add a photo. (only done it twice.)
I really hope you find your dog.
-
We will keep our eyes open for Elsa. Hope you find her soon.
-

-
Chris I really hope that you find her, I know how much you love your dogs

At 6 pm tonite my Turkish neighbours called me to say they had found Elsa alive though a bit the worse for wear as she had been outside for 4 nights & obviously hadnt been able to have her medication. She had a fit in the car as I took her straight to Kent Vet but she seems stable now if a bit disorientated & tired. She was found fairly close by but had collapsed & couldnt walk so bless her she must have been frantic hearing me calling but not being able to repsond. So thanks to everyone for your good wishes. I have her back for however long she has left with us xx

-
i was just wondering how elsa is now xx
-
thanks for all the good wishes. Elsa is stable though she seems to have forgotten the layout of my apartment so plays "doggie pinball" bouncing off walls etc . Not sure if she has any brain damage after her ordeal ( she had a couple of fits on her return & mayw well have had several whilst she was away ) so will keep a close eye on her. Sad to say I may not leave her this way too much longer but she will let me know when she has had enough. At the moment she is eating well.
-
Sad to say that Elsa is nearing the end - she appears to be going down hill so I am considering getting her put down within the next day or so asI dont want her to suffer . Unfortunately I cannot bury her where I live ( communal apartments & the neighbours would not accept it ) & the vet has said he cannot take her body. What does one do ,in these circumstances ? I want her to be put to sleep at home as I dont want her to be afraid or made uncomfortable by a car journey but how/ where can I then lay her to rest where she wont be disturbed ? Any advice gratefully recieved

Hi Christine, so sorry to hear the news about Elsa. You must be devastated, but at least you got her back to make the decision. We sadly lost our golden retriever in March 2009. Our vet organised with the Animal Shelter on the Uzumlu road that for a donation Bramble could be buried up there. Might be worth checking with your vet to see if this is an option. Thinking about you.

Hi Chris,
So very sorry to hear of Elsa decline.
There have been a few dogs that have been buried up at the center and June is right its lovely up there,
The only problem is that they are only around for cleaning and feeding over the next four days due to Bayram holiday.
We would need to check with Emray the vet for the center as he speaks good english.
If we can help and its not to late please contact us and we will help sort things out for you
regards
Terrie

so sorry to read this, dogs are amazing and they know when theyve been loved and trust their owners to do the right thing when the time comes. Still miss mine after very many years and will never forget the day I had to have him put to sleep. He definitely knew what was happening and gave me a look to say it was ok.
Thinking of you and it will get easier with time x
-
SO sorry to hear all of this. Hope you are all ok. x
-
Best wishes Chris xx She will still be walking by your side on your daily strolls - I'm a great believer that they pass to a better place, but are never far away from the people that have loved them.
-
So very sorry to read this. Sincere condolances to you.
Chris.

Thanks for all your kind words & thoughts. Elsa has been laid to rest overlooking the sea near Kalkan - a beautiful spot.
