Just woke up to see snow on the Campsie hills, from my caravan. Lovely! Hopefully we'll get another good skiing season this year.
:D

Snow is last thing I'd be pleased to see. We just had a beautiful weekend with the sunshine bringing out all the beautiful Autumn colours. I'll be happy if we seen none of the white stuff at all this year!

My daughter had snow in Turiff, Aberdeenshire two weeks ago. I welcome the snow in Scotland as long as it stays on the Mountains and Ski Slopes. It brings in all the tourists to spend their money once again and help the Scottish economy, but kept it away from the coast where I live.

Two years ago (our first winter after our return from Turkey) we had the magical overnight snow where the kids went to bed and all was 'normal' and woke up to everything being white. They had never experienced anything like that before and it was lovely to see their faces. One snowman and two days later, it had all gone. Last year it tried to do the same but sadly hung around for what seemed like months. I know which snow I prefer :)

Aah, the beautiful Campsie Fells, I remember them well. Do the locals still use that name, Toky, or has it "progressed" to "modern speak"? I used to work around there YEARS ago, from Fintry, down the Crow Road to Balgrochan, Lennoxtown, through Milton o' Campsie, Birdston, then into "Kirkie". What memories, & what a beautiful journey it was.

I once went to scotland for some skiing we ended up hiring canoes on the Caledonian canal the weather was absolutely balmy -literally.
-
Was that before you were deported Gordy? LOL! Folks usually just call them the Campsies and nothing will have changed since you were there. We have a caravan in Fintry and use the Crow Rd regularly to go to Kirkie (Kirkintilloch), so I know that area well. We arrived in beautiful autumn sunshine yesterday Anne, and ended up with gales last night! Bought a new snow shovel at Dobbies, Perth today. Mine snapped last year as it was used so often.

I won't tell you what the Wedgie boys say aboy The Campsies Gordon :o

Well Scotland, you weren't the only ones.... I drove through some snow on the Yorkshire/Lancs border today up near the farm in the middle of the M62 (for those that know it)
I love it too but agree it's nice when it lands and is all clean and crisp but soooo horrible when it's all grey and slushy. Oh the thought of freezing wet feet - yuk.

My Mum & Dad always said that the best place for snow is on the front Christmas card!! As far as Loz is concerned, when it snows she is out in the garden, running around like a kid, ( not the baby goat variety, I hasten to add!) I got enough of wading through it on my way to school when I was younger, over the top of the "wellies" on more than one occasion!! ;)
Gordy.

Your lucky Toky we had snow 10 months ago.

LOL Jim. Can't believe this year had a mid summer ski at Cairngorms and now they've had a dump, enough to ski on again. :D
-
Yes it's amazing how energetic you can feel after a trip to the toilet.
