A hauntingly beautiful version of a lovely song. Well worth listening till the end.

Always remembered, and our forces are a credit to our country. Shame, i would have thought this topic would have received a much larger response.:(

yes I agree
I always attend a service on remembrance sunday
I watch with pride when my father and his twin brothers both ex paras from the origional airbourne regiment and served in Arnhem, taking part adorned with their medals and still fit enough to march.
I will be there Sunday not just to show respect to my father but to all those past and those present serving in the forces.

Hope you didn't interpret my post as a criticism It certainly wasn't intended as such. Quite the contrary, any post remembering the fallen is to be applauded.
My post was merely an observation, Greeting Section has 2,000+ reads whereas "All things that have nothing to do with Turkey" has 44,000+.
That having been said, I can see that some British people living in Calis may not appreciate me suggesting that Section.
Thanks for posting in whatever Section.

In no way John, I indeed took some time and thought as to where to post the subject/topic and as Turkey was indeed involved in the great war, and as the remembrance day is a day in which we all remember the fallen from all country's, I just thought special occasion section was the one? here is another great memory for me when I read this,http://anzac.homestead.com/memorial.html brings a tear to your eye, and such a shame on all sides. We will remember them.

A very poignant link Steve.
There is a version of the link a posted sung in English and German which is equally striking.
Agreed. We WILL remmber them.

They shall not grow old,as we that are left grow old,age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn, at the going down of the sun and in the morning......WE WILL REMEMBER THEM.

Watched the Rememberance Service today on my laptop. It makes me so proud of our armed forces. For those who have gone before we shall never forget and for those who go forward we put our trust and faith.
