Just to let you know that the Calis Children's Charity Committee will be holding the annual sponsored splash again on Boxing Day, 26 December.
For all you daring people out there who want to do something different following the excesses of Christmas Day, why not join us in the big sponsored "Big Splash" in the sea at Calis?
The Committee hope that the brave "splashers" will seek sponsorship and wear fancy dress for the event - the wackier the better! (although this is optional it makes great fun for the spectators!).
Last years "Splash" was an enormous success and helped to raise a lot of money for our childrens charity. It is hoped that there will be even more "splashers" this year so now is the time to start thinking of your costumes. There will be a prize for the best costume.
This years event will take place on the beach opposite Dennis The Menace. Assembly will be from 12.00 noon and the Big Splash will take place at 1.00.
Sponsorship forms will be available in the bars soon so watch out for the posters or ring the Calis Children's Charity Committee on 0535 8554919 or 0536 3739520 for more details - and please remember this event is open to everyone whether you live in Calis, Fethiye, Uzumlu, Hisaronu or even UK!

Great cause, saw the pictures from last year. They must be out of their mind or full of Dutch courage. Wonderful idea though. Hope its a great success.

It's really good fun tonyb and we hope lots more people will join in this year and Dennis the Menace restaurant will provide free hot soup for the "splashers". There will also be a prize for the best costume.
The sponsorship forms will be in the bars next week so watch this space :D

Sponsor forms are now available and will be going into selected bars this week. If you would like a form please e-mail me or Dizzy Jan and we will get one to you.
The forms will also be available at the Hot Gossip night at the Koc Sun on Saturday - and it will all be in the best possible taste!!! :D:D:D

Glad there's no takers as I'd have to renege as my mam is back in dock. Been in and out of hospital/care homes for the last eight weeks and went back in on Wednesday.

Don't forget it is the annual Calis Childrens Charity Boxing Day Splash today.
12 noon onwards at the Dennis The Menace Bar (former Bambu next to Nil)-it's not too late to enter just come and join in, don't worry if you haven't got any sponsors or fancy dress-the more 'splashers' the merrier & a small donation to this worthy cause would be greatly appreciated!
If you don't fancy getting wet, then just come along to laugh at those who do!!
Dennis will be doing hot soup to keep you warm, but the weather is looking promising so should be a good fun day out for all!

Hi H, I am really sorry for not responding :-\. Yes I did get your e-mail - but we have been off line for ages as we moved house around the same time as the Xmas Fair in early December and had no internet but are now back on and catching up with outstanding e-mails (of which there are many!) It has all been a bit manic but I will respond by pm :)

Hi All
A great big Thank You to everyone who came down to Calis seafront yesterday for the Boxing Day Splash.
We had a number of 'splashers', some in fancy dress, including Laurel & Hardy, Tommy Turtle, 'Barmy Army' & Father Christmases! There were very many spectators & of course the Turkish press were there in force too-so look out for the photographs in our local papers & on their websites!
'Laurel & Hardy' aka Eric Robson & Mick Reeves won the prize for best fancy dress.
We raised approximately 900 TL for Calis Childrens Charity (exact figure will be known when all monies are collected)-which included a whip round from the Hash Harriers who normally take part in the Splash but instead did their hash that day in fancy dress!
We are very grateful to Dennis from Dennis The Menace Bar who provided hot soup & bread free of charge to all in his bar & laid on champagne for the 'splashers' too!
I will now try to get some photos on here!
Once again a big thank you to all for making the day a great success.

Well done everyone - we would have joined in if we had been in Calis. Pete put his toe in the snow here in UK but that was toooooo cold to go further :D
A special thanks to Baz and Kaz of the Fethiye Hash who did the walk in fancy dress to raise 125 TL for our charity :D

Wow! it looks as though we missed a great event. A huge, huge thank you to everyone who took part or who sponsored a "splasher". Well done to Laurel and Hardy who won first prize - great costumes - "looks like another fine mess you got into" :D:D:D
