Visited Leigh on Sea (Essex) at the weekend and I have to say it's a beautiful little place. Tried Jellied eels as well :o
Heres a couple of my arty farty atmospheric pics ;)

Lovely pics, thanks for posting them :) Many a Sunday spent there over rather a lot of years.

I grew up around the area and my Father used to have 2 shellfish stalls on Canvey Island market, we always collected the stock from Leigh. The rule was that if it didn't sell then Mum, Dad, 3 sons & 1 daughter had it for dinner. Mmmmm!
Those photo's have reminded me that I need to go visit some family, Thanks. :D

The Beales always used to go to Leigh-on-sea for their holidays in Eastenders. That was enough for me never to want to go there.

Stunning pictures!
We had a relative who lived at Leigh-on-Sea until he reached almost 101 and who was a veteran of the First World War (being one of the survivors of the Battle of the Somme).
He lived almost exclusively on the fish from Leigh-on-Sea and seafood from the cockle sheds.
Truly a special place :)

Great pics Russ as you know we come from Southend (3miles from Leigh on Sea). Boy do I miss the shellfish from there.
