I am very happy and proud that one of our moderators, who's career has also included lows like having to work for me, was registered this very morning as a sworn translator at Notary number 6 - which is a great notary to be using as it's about the only one where you don't need to pay to park your car ;) . Notary 6 is above Kent Vets in Fethiye.
It is a fabulous achievement for someone to receive this, but especially someone born and bred in Britain. It also means us Brits have someone we understand fully (well as much as we can with Blackpool folk) when it comes to having to get things done at the notary office, needing translators we can trust, dealing with the police on all and any matters and also Zabita (local authority police) for things like being ripped off on drink prices. Oh, and Nikkie also does property management and has many satisfied customers.
I don't know about you but the first time I had to go to the notary I paid 50 lira for a sworn in translator and didn't really have a clue what he was telling me so this really is good news for all of us, but especially for Nikkie.
Well done & best of luck :)
-
Well done and well deserved Nikkie, Iknow you worked really hard to achieve this.
-
She sworn at me last week:D
Well done Nikkie ;)

Cathy
-
Well done Nikkie...I know you will do well.
-
Thanks everyone :)
It's been a lot of hard work and studying, and then the final wait to get sworn in. But today has started what hopefully will be a great year for me.
Notery 6 is as Keith said one of the only noteries that you don't pay to park and is very handy to get to.
I will be doing all manner of translation and interpretation, as well as the other bits that I do ;) so if anyone needs any assistance in anyway just let me know. :D

Absolutely brilliant achievment when you think that most people don't even try to learn the language "because they speak English now" lol. Aferin canim benim xx
-
I used them when I bought my scooter and was very impressed with the service and with the language skills of the translator they used - adding a native english speaker to their list will definitely make me recommend them even more.
-
Well done Nikkie, congratulations
-
congratulations Nikkie, must have been really difficult but what an achievement! x
-
Well done Nikkie, Good start to the new year.
-
Thanks again for all of the congratulations! :)
Thanks Kayakebab, there was alot of studying involved and it was a difficult course, with difficult topics to write about (even in my native tongue!)not to mention exams every 4 weeks to pass through each level!
But everything has paid off, I have my diploma from Ankara University, and am now sworn in.
Thanks Badger.. (Geoff and Irene, will speak to you before June no doubt, but will make time to meet up with you when you are over ;))
Just to note that if people want me in particular to be their notary translator, then you can make an appointment with me beforehand, or if you go to Notery no.6 individually, then you would have to ask for me by name,(My Sunday name of course ;) Nicola Jane Bulan), they will ring me and I will go to the Notery office to meet you. :)
-
That's brilliant.I am very impressed !
-
well done Nikkie. I may be in need of a solicitor to sort out a will. Do you have anything to do with this sort of thing?
-
Congratulations Nikkie, well done.
-
Now I have been 'sworn' in as an official notary translator, this entitles me to be an official translator with the police, belediye, tapu office and law court etc, on official business or just enquiries.
I also have experience in property management, tapu problems, insurance (home, Dask, car etc), airport transfers, etc.
I am also be available for residency and citizenship applications, as well as Wills and other legal documents.
-
well done Nikkie, what a great achievement; so glad all your hard work has paid off.
Pop some cards into the restaurant in April and we can have them on show and available for people...
Have a great year x

Great news Nikkie, this is a superb achievement and we all know who to contact if the needs arise. I wonder if it is worth suggesting that you might consider putting a link on the CBF for this critically important service!

Blackpool eh? aye well its allright for a while but good to get back to the wet grey streets of Salford! (very good prices on 7.62mm ball ammunition for automatic Weapons on Langworthy Road this week!)
John
-
Congrats Nikkie a big well done.
-
just a thought johntaylor49, but an acknowledgement of a fine achievement alongside your reference to Salford and automatic ammunition for weapons might have been nice.
-
Thank you again for all of the kind words, and encouragement :)
Sorry, but I don't quite understand the relevance of the post made by johntaylor49...
'' Blackpool eh? aye well its allright for a while but good to get back to the wet grey streets of Salford! (very good prices on 7.62mm ball ammunition for automatic Weapons on Langworthy Road this week!)''
Blackpool may not have been his (johntaylor49) choice of a place to live, or visit ... but as John (Highlander) has kindly commented.. 'an acknowledgement of a fine achievement...might have been nice.'
After all, I didn't earn a diploma in Turkish language because I was born in Blackpool!!
-
What IS he on about [?] he posted just after 8 so he shouldn't have been pi**ed ;) perhaps just a screw loose. Cograts again from me Nikkie :)

That's what I thought "have I missed smething"? Then concluded Barking Mad : :)
It must have been extremely hard work studying & sitting exams with your
"Kiss me Quick" hat on :P
Well done - a great achievement :)

Hi Nikkie and thanks for your last FB message. In response I can say that I think we understand everything. We (Sue & I) would like to thank you once again for your translation of the legal document and putting our minds at rest over the roof thingy. To all on here I cannot over praise Nikkie's professionalism and understanding. On a personal note it was great to see you again Nikkie and see how Celal has come on over 3 years. It was also good that you saw my mob ;) 8)
p.s. Glad we didn't go for the "Everything Legal" option.
-
:-\ Thanks Ken. I was more than happy to help :)
It was good to see you again too, and meet the 'mob'. I hope the weather keeps good for Wednesday and best wishes for the wedding :)
Once again glad to help, and am happy that your minds are at ease now x

We are looking for a translator this Friday at approx 2pm for about 2 hours. We have emailed SunnyD but as yet have not had a reply. Does anyone know if she is in Fethiye at the present time please? Or can anyone recommend a translator to us.
Thank you
Carol
-
Hi Carol,
If you cannot get a hold of Nikkie. Go to the shop "Hippy Chic" which is along the one way street with all the Banks in Fethiye, it's just passed the Fortis Bank first left and opposite the Mulberry Tree Restaurant. The owners are a lovely couple called Linda and Yacob. Yacob is a translater and really helped us when we were over in May can thoroughly recommend him. We were in the shop and mentioned some problems we had and he immediately came with us and sorted things out. He was a great help.
-
Thank you - will wait and see if we hear from Nikkie first as we e mailed her yesterday. If not we know roughly where you mean in Fethiye.
-
Nikkie is back and i am sure she will get back to you.
Bruce
-
Thanks Bruce, I contacted Carol this morning and all is sorted
;)
-
Thanks to the power of the CBF we met with Nikkie today.
What a lovely lady she is.
Her knowledge and wisdom of the legal systems and advice given was superb.
Thanks Nikkie.
