Hope he does enough to stablise the situation and gets them through till the end of the season and then goes back to the golf course.

Not sure if the rot at Liverpool is from the bottom up, i.e. from the Team, or from the Management down (including the new Yank Owners). Either way I'm not sure Daglish is necessarily the man to do the job, particularly as he tends to leave clubs - after initial success - in a worst position, and generally short of cash.
-
Leaving aside his previous managerial record as Liverpool Manager as it may not be particularly relevant 10 years on, the point surely is that he "understands" Liverpool and what it means to the supporters. If he can impart his passion for the club to the present crop of players, I think I'll be fine.
I'm also convinced that he wouldn't want to stay after the end of the season.
-
If he knows what to do, why didn't let Roy in on it? Glad for the fans to see Turkey neck gone but not convinced about the rest of today's news.
-
Kenny inherited a good side last time out so I'm wondering how he will do this time, especially as he left on bad health previously.
-
Tel - re bad health - that's why I don't believe he will stay.
Scunner - presumably because he thought it wasn't his place to, didn't want to undermine RH and left the managing of the team to the manager.
I also believe that if asked, he would have found it very difficult to decline.
I wish him well. Top bloke :)
-
It's a Shearer situation really - if they improve he's a hero and if they don't it was Woy's fault. Can't blame him though, taking the job till the end of the season is about as pressure free and premiership management is going to get.
-
Just lets suck it and see, fingers crossed, I never thought he would take the job, but have heard he will leave end of season, the rumour prior to Woy going was that Kenny was coming back with Rushy,(not the Calis one), and Atletico's manger was coming in next season !!!!!!
But Best Of Luck to Kenny..
-
That's really sad. The idea of Liverpool calling a press conference to reveal a management team of Kenny Dalglish and Rushy from Calis would be brilliant :D
-
When you look at Ken's track record it is not very good, apart from when he was at Blackburn, so not expecting great things from him. My opinion is that there is no one available who can do a job at Liverpool at the moment so appointing Dalglish is a stopgap appointment where, as said previously, if things go wrong it was Woy's fault. What a way to run a business!:-\

Liverpool Managerial Record not too shabby. Just over 60 % win percentage.

Yes but as Tel said, look at the squad he inherited first time round! Fair do's to him he kept it going, and that isn't a gimme as many managers have found out to their cost - and that brings me quite neatly onto my other point which is that Liverpool today still suffer from the decline which Souness began nearly exactly 20 years ago.

I hope he does crap to vindicate Roy, who has been made a scapegoat, and prove that the guys on the pitch are the failures : :)

would man untd be the same without alex,? ken, would he get the sack,if they failed in the league.
-
Kenkay I'm not sure I wish Daglish any ill feelings going forward with the job, but I do feel for Hodgson, there were too many 'monkeys on his back' to ever succeed at Liverpool - owners, supporters who think the club has a god given right to be a 'top' club, and sulky, spoilt players - and the biggest monkey sat in the stand every week letting supporters and TV alike know his feelings through his over-dramatic body langauge and sour face ..

How the world has changed. Manchester United's League positions after Fergie took over
86 - 87 11th
87 - 88 2nd
88 - 89 11th
89 - 90 13th
90 - 91 6th
91 - 92 2nd
-
...but with timely FA & League Cup wins to keep things ticking over.
-
Indeed - very timely. But as you know it took him three years to win his first trophy. Much longer than people are given today.

To answer both questions probably not and probably not. I was hoping a while ago that Fergie would step down and that they'd get Mourinho (spelling?) ;):D
