Hi
my wife and i are thinking about a 12 month rental starting this Septmeber, looking for a 2/3 bedroom apartment or villa. We need some idea of prices and what the rental would include please. We are both in our early 50s and from Surrey, and i hope to take early retirement this year, and would very much like to rent in Calis befor buying. Would also like to know what the town is like off season.
Hope to hear form you all soon
Many Thanks
Lee + Nikki

-

-
Episode 1 - I saved a whole shedload of money by not using an agent.
Episode 2 - Can anyone help me get rid of all the sh1t that keeps hitting my fan.
:D ;):D
-
Sorry i meant to say is it safe to look at it lol
-
like a tarantula you mean?

There was a topic on here that is now archived that starts with a rather smug (and I quote) "i bought my 20yr old Turkish villa 5 years ago without using an estate agent, i did it with the help of my turkish friend and saved a lot of money".
It ends with another quote, one for around £6000 to get the permissions sorted and prevent it's demolition. Is it safe to look at? If you like surprises and later totally unexpected expense running in to thousands, it'll be a blast! Your choice of course, as the guy in this example said, he saved a lot of money.

Glad you saved heaps of money, i know the Turkish agents charge alot.
question 2 ,ye si can help you
To stop it hitting the fan is easy
Dont have a fan;-)
Simples lol

I think you are missing his point entirely...
-
If you want to take the chance on losing all your money and perhaps your sanity then go right ahead, don't let any of us stop you.
If, on the otherhand your willing to use this forum for the advice and knowledge that is freely given then you'll end up with a place in the sun and a relatively stress free retirement.
The choice is yours

I smell a hidden agenda but then I could be wrong.
I don't think Epsomboy seems the type to do anything rash Anne - his fantasies about buying/renting a property go right back 3 years to 2008 when he was known as Lee08:

Epsomboy, I KNOW that you are totally missing the very valid points made by Keith,(Scunner, Forum owner). If you bring up "Archived Posts", with regards to this subject, on The Forum, you will very quickly see that the mere thought of ANYONE even considering purchasing property in Turkey, without the good auspices of an accredited estate agent/ solicitor, brings a very icy chill to Forum members. The amount of people who have been ripped off, robbed of their life savings, left destitute in a foreign country, is, quite frankly, BLOODY TERRIFYING. (Sorry for shouting, Boss, but, sometimes, needs must).
However, epsomboy, if you think that YOU can somehow buck the trend, and "save money", ha-ha-, proceed.
Gordy.
Sorry, Boss, I took so long to write this that you got those points up before I posted. Methinks that there may be a new Property Rental site coming along soon, hosted by "you know who"??

Like to ask a question,
if someone decides to sell do they always have to use an agent? Surely its not always the case is it?
There must me people on here who would much rather sell private then use an agent?
Or am i getting it all wrong?
-
You're free to do whatever you like mate.
-
People can sell through an agent or they can sell without an agent. After 3 years as a member here you should at least have picked that much up.
-
Yes i know that, has being a member for 3 years, you will have seen that i have not really been on here very much in the past few years, many reasons for this ,mainly my health, and other things famliy related. Was hoping to get back into this again has we really want to make the move this time
we have had enough of the UK and think this year is the time to move.
Thanks to everyone for all there help + advice
-
Think you would be wise to take the advice of members who know the game guys, but at the end of the day its your decision. ;)
-
I have a villa for sale private on CBF but when I do get a buyer, I will use my trusted friend Cenk at Interturk Estates to complete the sale for me, knowing I will have peace of mind that everything will be done correctly, for a small percentage of the selling price.

i think you must rent first, make sure you like the area you live in,and it will
give you time to know the people and country and if its for you.
-
Seems like the way to go here is to use an agent then, yes we plan to rent 1st and see whats on offer after that
Thanks again..............
