Title: Desperately Seeking Crisps (UK)
Post by: Scunner on February 13, 2011, 20:15:57 PM: I am looking for Walkers Cheese and Bacon Crisps - they are listed as being sold by nearly all the major supermarkets but I can't find them. Finding them would make one young lady very happy :)

They are in a yellow packet:

Once I find these I will begin an even more important quest, to find the World's greatest crisps by miles - Tayto Cheese & Onion. One of the few great things Northern Ireland gave us (plus George Best & Mrs Scunner of course ;) )

I can remember many years ago that every packet of Golden Wonder Cheese & Onion crisps were blessed with a surfeit of the flavoured powder that stuck to your fingers, and was absolutely delicious, :P:P:P:P:D Like the corners of my mind.

He stopped buying Golden Wonder in favour of Highlander Crisps. Highlander was formed by all the old employees of the defuncted Golden Wonder Factory and my husband decided he wanted to support Highlander. He always says Highlander are the best crisp he has tasted.

The Golden Wonder Factory was in Broxburn, within 3 months of a Golden Wonder take over, the Factory was closed and production moved to England. There were 350 employees some with 20 years service. This was late 80's early 90's. However, good on them to start up their own sucessful business Highlander Crisps, one in the eye for Golden Wonder... We buy Scottish whenever possible particularly when it helps such a worthwhile business venture ;)

Also when we went we were asked to do a consumer test, I wasn't interested but the man cunningly convinced the girls with "You have to eat two chocolate croissants and tell us which one you like best". One father, suddenly standing alone in the supermarket :D
