Title: Solar Power
Post by: mickysparks on February 23, 2011, 18:27:24 PM
Been to Calis a few times and love it, oddly though I am amazed by all the solar power units about and in awe of how much hot water it served on our apartment.
I want to put the same on our house back in the UK (I know the sun doesn't shine so much) but the prices are way to high.  Even with, so called 'grants' its so expensive, apart from which, I can't get one.
The Solar Units must be cheaper in Turkey than the UK, does anyone know of a contact for supply and if possible prices?
I would be so grateful if I could get some idea, wish I had done it whilst I was there last.

Many thanks Mike

1000TL sounds a good price but you then have to consider transport costs to the uk and import duty, plus does the system conform to uk building regs I doubt it.

The most cost effective system in the uk is a hybrid solar panel system which will give you both hot water and electricity into the grid which you can get a payback for 25 years not a cheap system but it does work be careful if you are considering this system as some company's will supply and fit a system for free as long as you let them have your electricity payback I would not go down this route as it has many pitfalls, the system itself is very good and works

Suggest you contact Solimpeks Solar Energy Corp based in Konya Turkey they do have a UK agent goto wwww.solimpeks.com

Mike,
I understand your idea, however, you are not compairing like with like.
I suggest you look on the HVCA's website for best options in UK, they work to the correct standards for the best energy savings.
If you use someone else, best to ensure they are "Trust Mark" government approved.
There are a range of large UK manufacturers who also do all the calculations/supply/install for you.
Solar is a subject best dealt with by experts for the best savings. 8)
