Title: Annoying mail from CBF Member Transfer Company
Post by: Jacqui Harvey on February 28, 2011, 20:15:58 PM
A certain car hire/transfer  company "ORANGE"  are running shuttle buses from Antalya to Fethiye.  I know this because I have had 6 emails from them today, all exactly the same.  After email number 5  I wrote and asked them to stop mailing me.  This was to no avail, as I just received number 6.  I have added them to my "blocked sender list".  It's really annoying to keep getting this mail:(, effectly, now I will not hear from them again. ;)

I receievd mine six times as well but I have to say I actualy thought it was quite a good idea (sorry Jacqui!) if I needed to get to Turkey in emergency in the winter months and the only way was a direct flight to Antalya rather then Istanbul then on to Dalaman I would happily pay £25 for a shuttle transfer from Antalya.

I got it too but just assumed it was a blip. Slightly annoying but nothing too terrible.

No, I know that, I just meant that they were a member of CBF.  Why on earth are they sending the same email to everyone (on CBF) 6 times?
Surely, we are all bright enough to understand with just one message?

I think there has been problem with their messages I quite often get 3 or 4 and put it down to someone pressing send too many times.

I don't think they are daft enough to spam the whole of the membership as I'm sure the boss might have a word. So my guess they have your addy on file.
I didn't get any as I blocked them a while back.

I have not had this either so clearly they must be targetting former customers, although I could be wrong.

I would be surprised if CBF played any part in this - I would have noticed. It seems like they are letting all their former customers know about their services through an email address list they have accrued over the years. Then sending the info 6 times :D

Exactly Keith. That's the reason I blocked them a few months back - I kept getting multiple emails about the same thing. Only slightly less annoying than the African ones I get telling me I can be rich beyond my dreams and the ones I get from the banks that I do not bank with telling me my account is frozen and I need to provide them with all my details asap.

Seriously though there is obviously a glitch in their system as multiple emails seem to be a regular occurrence. Maybe they will see this thread and be able to identify the problem.

We did use them about 3 years ago, so, as has been suggested they must have kept their old lists and are blanket emailing everyone (6 times).   Glad I have blocked them now I hate getting the same mail over and over.

aha, me too, still getting them, I actually did place an enquiry with them but was not happy with their pricing as they conveniently left stuff out -- and they wanted £400 excess!

Good morning John,

Hope all is well.

This price ( quoted £150 ) includes insurance and can be for two named drivers. We will need to see the driving licences of all drivers. There is no additional charge for the additional driver.

There is a £400 excess on our insurance policies.
We can only provide car insurance with a £400 excess.

The insurance cover on our vehicles has a £400 excess so any collision damage would come under this.
The price includes unlimited mileage and delivery/collection to Dalaman airport

Any damage to tyres windscreen or headlights would have to be paid for.

There is no theft insurance waiver.

All our cars have CD players.

i have attached the transfer prices for 2011.

i hope the information above is some help to you.

Look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sally

Kind Regards
Team Orange

I got a fantastic deal from Fehtiyerentacar by the way, which had no excess included HTW as well!  8)

The african ones are bad but before joining the forum, I must have mis-typed at some point as "Calis" and Cialis" are very similar - the latter being a form of Viagra apparently - I now am inundated with rude spam offering a solution to certain "problems"!   :-\

We use Orange all the time - and we did get the duplicate emails.  First time in 3 years we have experienced this so just put it down to a mistake or email fault.

We had our usual monthly property inspection report and that only arrived once so the world hasn't ended.

Yes, we all know how to delete  but, who wants to get 6-8 emails all exactly the same and all coming at different times throughout the day.  Perhaps some members just check their emails once per day and can block delete.  I work at my computer during the day and find it very annoying to keep getting the same email, so effectively I have to delete  6 times not just once.
It seems that the ethos here from some members who seem totally grateful for this Company allowing them to use their services is  "If we find a Company we like to use we have to put up with their incompetence".
We had used this Company in the past but,  we have now used the same and in our humble opinion better, Company for the last three years (Fethiye Lovers), they are totally competent, completely professional give good service at excellent prices and have mastered the use of a computer with ease... Simples

On that note I think it's time to lock this thread. Everyone has had a chance to make their point and maybe if someone from Orange has read this they might tighten up their admin a little.
