We were just called over to the Park Petrol Station (the one just reopened as you come into Uzumlu) because a dog had been hit by a car driven by the imam and had injured both rear legs. The people at garage think it might be owned by English, it looks a bit like an old English sheepdog -dark grey - but I am no expert, it had no collar.
Sue and Mike have taken it down to Kent Vet for treatment. As always they are the good samaritans for our four legged friends.
If anyone knows the owner if they contact us we will let them know what the current situation is.

The dog is in Kentvet now and laying in a warm bed, it looks like he has a broken hip, it has had pain killing injections and will be kept in tonight x-rayed and maybe operated on tomorrow.
Grey Old English Sheepdog getting on a bit in years.
will let you know how hes getting on tomorrow.
Thanks Sue and Mike ;)

We would just like to say thank you to Andy & Pauline of Animal Aid for helping us so quickly with this poor dog.
Fingers crossed that he will be OK.

So sorry to hear about this poor dog. we hope he makes a full recovery from his ordeal. Well done to everyone.
-
Poor dog thank god there are people like sue and mike that care.
Hope the dog has an owner and has a speedy recovery. Xx

:(sadly this one didn't make it, the xrays showed a smashed hip joint, so the poor old boy was put to sleep today:(
On the other hand we picked up a cat that had been there for three days after a serious stomache problem and has made a full recovery :)
Thanks to Chesne at Kentvet on both counts ;)

Thanks for what everyone did to contribute to this poor dog dying in peace. Without you his suffering would have been unimaginable.

Oh my god we are so so sorry for this poor dog.Thought at least he might have had a chance. The work that Animal Aid do is second to none. Andy, Pauline and the rest of the team. Where would we be with out them.
Still crying for my own loss so will now shead a tear for this poor chap.

So sorry to hear this news.
First a big thanks to Sue & Mike who came when we did not know what was best to do. Secondly thanks to staff at the Park Petrol Station who were concerned enough for the dogs welfare to look for help.
Neylan will be looking to have words with the imam who hit the dog and did not wait as he had to go to the mosque.

The injuries were actually worse than first thought due to mis-translation, I now have the xrays and the poor old dog had a broken back and lost the use of both back legs and tail so no choice was left for the vet:(
Thanks again to all concerned
