Went to Comet this afternoon, it's a pretty big store and we were the only people in there apart from staff when we walked in [:o]

No wonder, they refuse to give discounts, they charge for delivery.  We found a built in oven in a local family run shop cheaper than Comet and the shop delivered it free of charge, they also knocked another tenner off the price when I asked.
We have not bought anything in Comet for years now they are far too expensive.

I prefer them to Currys - although I have no idea why  :)

Bought a washing machine from them recently. I looked it up on the Comet online site and it was £90 cheaper than in the shop. When I told them that I would buy it online the manager said that it was Comet policy to match the online price. Had a rather heated debate with him about Comet pricing policy. I was arguing that most people and especially the old would not check the price on line and that they would have charged them £90 more.
