You can't blame them for a belly dancer cancelling!

I'd call that a result anyway, I'm entirely sick of the sight of belly dancers :D

I suppose there are only so many customers to go around.  If I am correct there are now 4 restaurants and an Hotel within a few hundred yards near the Calis market site.   It seems everyone wants to open a restaurant/bar in Calis and new ones spring up all the time.   I also agree about the belly dancers, if we find out one is on in a restaurant we are going to visit we change our plans immediately.

We went to Bati cafe a couple of evenings ago with friends and had a lovely evening. We weren't rushed to sit at the table nor for our orders once we had sat down. I think the majority of us had Indian and although it is not authentic it is very tasty and plenty of it, we will certainly go back to try some other dishes on the menu. The staff were very friendly and proficient, they helped us all have a lovely evening. I wish them good luck for this coming Summer season.

I read the post on 2.4 just said meatball night was looking forward to it as we were staying close by and the reviews had been good.Came out to Calis 7.4 so did not know what the special menu was as I do not bring my laptop with me.I asked the waiter who said it was on that night so should have been served everything, bread and salad are normally pretty standard these days.

My appologise ,We may be totally failed ,with the foods and service .
But ,You should ask for more bread ,like asking an extra cheese plate
or raki .
You may also ask for the dessert ,while others have .
That is not an excuse ,but customers help Us to make the corrections or higher up the conditions with their compliments and complains .
Anytime ,You like ,please be Our guest again and have Our special deepfried ice cream for free .

When we first came here salad was pretty standard and also the lovely Turkish flat bread. However the bread seems to have been replaced by some sliced toast or puffy bread and salad is now generally charged for. The exception being the lokantas where the bread and salad is still free. I dont know what went wrong on the night but we have never before had complaints and their garden is a lovely place to sit during the day.

It's getting better but I feel that some staff simply don't get Brits - a Turk wouldn't sit with no bread for long, he's let the waiter know it was missing within seconds  ;)

After recommendation on here we visited the Balti last month.  There was only one other couple in the place, even so the service was very slow and we waited ages for someone to come to the table.  A guy in an outside jacket, who we did not know was a waiter.  He took our food order and we asked for drinks.  We again sat for a long time and eventually caught someone's eye and asked for the drinks again.  My glass of wine was like vinegar.  The food came and was lovely.  A really nice meal, could not fault it.   When we finished the meal the place was empty and we waited for someone to come out, again no one did, so we decided to cut our losses have no dessert or coffee, my husband went inside and asked for the bill.
I think perhaps this place is good for  the boys to playing pool etc.,  but we decided we would not go back for a meal, there was no "restaurant" feeling. No one chatted to us and we felt, quite frankly, that we were an inconvenience.

Dear Mrs.Harvey ,
My appolgise ,We try to give a good service in a nice ,relaxing atmosphere and leave people with their foods ,instead of standing by their table and talk .
never push people in a hurry to get the orders .
Also I need to say ''BATI CAFE '' is a bar ,serving a selection of Ala carte and Indian Cuisine ,with very reasonable prices .
We are serving three different selections of wine companies .
And ,I must say ,house wine or glass of wine is the cheapest wine in every companys wine list ,though We are selling Kavaklidere ,Doluca or Sevilen .These bottles have metalscrew cap .I do not mean everyone of them ,but sometimes ,that effects the wine .
If You would tell the waiter to change the glass ,I guarantee You ,he did change it with pleasure .
If You come again and try Us once more ,I hope You will change Your mind .It will be a pleasure to see You and Your husband here again and I will open a well conditioned selection old wine to wellcome You .

its not screwcaps on wine bottles that turn wine but how long ago the bottle was first opened, better to buy a bottle and have it opened at the table,if for some reason you dont finish it(i realise thats possible) you can always take it with you,it would be better for those that only wanted one glass, sometimes a free one! if the bar/cafe owners used wine from boxes as no air gets in when its poured,by the way does anyone know the best price for a bottle of yakut.

When it's just me drinking the wine and we go out most nights for 3 weeks I would have a large collection of nearly full wine bottles.  I did ask for a glass of red wine and was not asked if I wanted any particular wine.  I also asked the waiter to take it away after I had a sip, said I could not drink it and please bring a G.&.T.  He did without any comment.

The only reason I mentioned the fact I was not offered a selection is because the owner said the establishment had one.  I have always just asked for a glass of red wine in the Fethiye area and in most establishments you will receive a glass of the house wine, as they are not going to open a bottle of other plonk just for you.  In the U.K. and when travelling in other countries I am used to asking for a glass of red wine and being offered a choice.  It's natural to assume if I am not offered they don't have it.
