Hi all
I have just discovered "Google Translate" on the computer. You just set it to Turkish and English. Type the word or phrase, and not only does it come up with the turkish translation, when you click on "speak" it says the words in Turkish.:D Fantastic.
Appologies if this is old news. I,m a bit slow when it comes to computers. If you have not heard of it before you must check it out.
Just type in Google Translate, and take it fron there.

All you gotta do now is work out how to use the search facility on CBF and you'll have the meaning of life, the universe and everything else at your fingertips. :D ;):D

It might be ok for single words.

But I've tried using it many times "elsewhere" on posts by my Turkish friends and it just doesn't work. It gives a "Morecambe" transaltion. Might be all the right words but not necessarily in the right order :)

Praps it can't do a "transaltion" because you keep mis-typing things into it ?  ;) ;) ;)

Try typing mis-typing and using a spell checker.:D:D:D

I think it is great for copying a whole lump of Turkish into, to at least get an idea of what it means. I wouldn't rely on it if I was writing to a Turkish friend (unless I knew them very well indeed) as it is at times like this that you find out something along the lines of the word for "friend" being only one letter away from the word for "tw4t"  ;)

Translate a sentence to Turkish and copy paste it back to translate into English and see what you get. I would never use google translate or any other online automatic translator to compose a message to a friend.
Scunner is bang on the nail when he mentions how close some words can have different meanings. take for example sikyor and sikyor. That one little dot makes a different from squeezing to F**king

sikyor and sikyor....Bwhahhaahhahahahha, I fell for that one long time ago whn i was trying to show off my elegant command of turkish language by reading outload of turkish newspaper in a busy caffe.

I even used to say "Tashak Kor" for Thank you, which sounds like blind testicles..LOL
