Title: BBC News: Nick Clegg Promises to...
Post by: Scunner on April 05, 2011, 13:15:02 PM
Blah blah blah, a promise from Nick Clegg is worth...

I wish the BBC would stop reporting this man's thoughts, they are meaningless.

I think the Lib dems in general have discovered that the art of opposition is radically different to the science of government.

True, and it's also clear that Nick Clegg is completely out of his depth.

You mean he can't keep up with intellectual heavyweights like David Cameron, George Osbourne, Eric Pickles and Oliver Letwin? They should all be advised to keep down the shallow end of the pool.

When a party issues a manifesto you expect them to stick by it and most governments do. The Tories stated that they would make big spending cuts so what we are experiencing is not a shock. What is totally unacceptable when a party enters government and breaks every promise that it made when contesting the election. Nick Clegg and some of his cronies have sold their souls to get the taste of power. I would not be surprised if Clegg joined the Tories before the next election.

If Clegg leads the Liberal Democrats at the next election they will be wiped off the political map.Good riddance to him.

I don't think there is any chance Nick Clegg will still be Lib Dem leader at the next general election, he will be lucky to last that long, there could well be a vote of no confidence before then!!

Good old Clegg puts his foot in it again. yesterday launched this new initiative that it is vision to ensure that everything is gained on merit and not through the old boys network.

He then admits that daddy used his influence to get him a job in a Finnish bank during his gap year.

If I was a Tory I would be seriously worried that this idiot will kill any chance the Tories have of winning the next general election.

he is good for a laugh a day. Today he is standing at a podium with the Prime Minister and the Health Secretary talking how they are going to destroy the NHS. Clegg the man at the election saying we are going to pour more into the NHS. Another one of his U Turns. He must be very dizzy and confused from all the turning he is doing.

It's quite a situation to be in. I do actually believe that politicians enter politics because they want to improve things. I'm not sure they carry that with them too far into the career but I do believe it is that, rather than the chance of power or riches that initially at least takes them into politics.

I can't believe Clegg even bothers turning up for work anymore after his ditching of all his principles. I have never hidden my left wing views and Clegg shouldn't be a million miles in his principles from me. But I have more respect for Tebbit or Portillo than Clegg. They preached absolute tripe, but at least they genuinely believed it and you could never make them compromise it...
