Listening to his apology you could tell he wasn't the brightest of people, let alone political candidate for the not very bright party (please note: during this election period other equally useless candidates are available for you to vote for). Although there is no doubt that the radio interviewer - who appears to be enjoying the interview too much - did more than give this ijiot his come uppance, he figuretively tore his arm off and beat him with the soggy end:D

Reminded me totally of certain people in CBF history, signing up as someone else to praise their own business - then denying it, which digs them a little deeper...
