I can't remember if this has been answered before but I couldn't find in the search facility. What are the "Baby on Board" notices for in the back of cars excatly?
-
They are to stop other drivers ploughing into the back of that car at 90 mph. There is a baby in it, so choose a different car.
-
They were designed to alert the emergency services to the fact that a baby might be trapped in the wreckage after a crash but they seem to have evolved into a way of bragging about the driver's fertility.
-
The emergency services actually dislike these signs now. The amount of time spent looking for a child in an rtc situation when in fact the sign was supposed to be removed frustrates them enormously.
-
absolutely pointless things to have-like people will change their driving just cos theres a sign in a car in front
Alas the baby type thing that drives me nuts, and should be illegal, is babies wearing Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday type bibs-on the wrong day!
Drives me mental-lazy bloody parents!!!!
-
If they are to alert emergency services and they are used only when a child is actually in the vehicle then great. I think I get it but I can't help thinking that they are actually being used as a notice to other people to be extra careful around them like as Scunner says "if you have to smash into someone at 90mph then choose someone else cos I have a baby on board".
-
Far easier and cheaper in Turkey, no sign visible in the rear window as the child is quite visible - asleep across the rear parcel shelf!
-
As irritating as I find "baby on board" stickers, I find the other variations, such as "princess on board" & "grandma on board" etc infuriating. If I was ever on a suicide mission in the car, I'd definitely choose one of those to smash into

I have this one
