As some members may know I haven't had a proper one for some time now but as of last Friday I am delighted to say that the long wait is over :)

KKOB - I suppose I should be grateful that you did not suggest what the transplant should have been. ;)

tinkerman - harsh on both counts.

posleeds - didn't want to think about your reply for too long.

BM06 - no, I have had one for a while.

stoop - I have had one of those also for a while.

scunner - are there times, how every infrequent, when you are sitting supping a nice glass of red or a toffee flavoured vodka, when you wonder what it must be like to be wrong:(.

Yes, scunner was correct. For the first time since June 2008 I have a full driving licence:D.

Sorry my response was a bit crude, but years ago I worked in an A & E x-ray department.  We had an elderly patient who hadn't been for a while & whose stomach was all distended.  We got him on the x-ray table & whoosh- weeks & weeks worth...an absolute nightmare as I'm sure you can imagine!
Your comment "I haven't had a proper one for some time now" brought the memories flooding back - literally  :-\
