Title: Residency Information required
Post by: Denise40 on April 25, 2011, 11:08:28 AM
Can anyone confirm that your tourist visa has to be due to expire (within 14 days)?? before you can apply for residency?

And is there a set amount of income, savings per year you must be able to show for each year of residency you want to apply for?

thanks

You can apply for residence at anytime during the 90 day tourist visa.
Also you need to show 300 USD per month in a Turkish bank account (can be in any currency though but to the value of 300 USD).
This maybe 500 USD in some other provinces though as I know Antalya has that rate. If you dont have a bank account then you can always change the money (3600 USD or 6000 USD depending on province) at a doviz and get the receipt for the transaction put in your name. You can then do what you want with all the changed money but I advise not to let the wife know.

They accept a pension slip showing monthly income instead of bank statement and they accepted our UK Bank statement. I think they just want to see that you have the means or income to support yourself.

It does depend on the province where you apply from. Unfortunately they are not all uniform and what one province wants might be different elsewhere.

I would assume then the monthly income would need to be $300 a month (each)??

If you had the equivalent in savings this would be acceptable?

Like you Fi we have a monthly income going into a UK account and savings here in Turkey.  Just wanted to know what amount was required to apply for a 5 year residency.

If we don't have means to support ourselves we will go and sign on in Fethiye once a week - LOL!

Thanks

Reading the list of required documents - we both have tax numbers and we have used them many times (bank accounts, scooter purchase etc) but I have no idea where my tax certificate is??

They were originally organised for us by Cenk / Finans in 2006.

Anyone any idea where I might get the right paperwork???

Ian

Go into the tax office Ian and they will re-issue it.
