Can anyone tell me how much time that you are allowed before your passport expires, before it becomes invalid regarding entry to Turkey.

Thanks

You have to have a minimum of 6 months left on your passport

Why is that?  My 4 year old is flying out with her dad in July and she will have about 5 months left, she does have a Turkish ID card though, HELP!

Don't know why but it does vary from country to country. Some require 3 months on a passport others only that the passport is valid.

Most definitely 6 months for Turkey though.

Why wait until your passport is close to the limit before thinking about renewing it?
If you apply for a renewal during the winter you will generally get your new passport back within 14 days and will have the unexpired period in your old passport added to it.
Not an answer to the first post but thinking ahead can save a few problems.
