Travel FX are offering 2.48 Lira to the pound today.
This is a really good offer as some of the banks are offering 2.40 Lira. There are no commission fees.  ;)

2.48 in the change office tonight must be the first time ever I have been and it has gone up everyday. Usually goes down every day when I am here. Best in a long while methinks

Yes, but some of these prices are only good if you are in Turkey.  The Travel FX is a U.K. price.

Is that the clothes shop opposite Ziraat Bank on the same side as L C Waikiki?
If so - you have to watch him - he advertises/offers/drags you in with one rate then tries & gives you less (either rip off or his maths skills are terrible).
He tried to sting me once - never again.....just walk a few yards further on, there is an exchange place on the corner.

glad to see you have found him out sally, he is well known for it, got us too about 10 years ago, but lots of people are wise to him now, thanks to forums like CBF.
