Geez this is doing my head in looking for a flight - any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
When i go onto the onthebeach website they are offering a Monarch flight from Luton on Saturday 07/05/11 with flight code MON.
I have then gone to the Monarch website and they say there are no flights from Luton on Saturday and their flight code seems to be ZB??
Confused or what?
I cannot be flexible with dates - it must be a Saturday flight. I dont want to book and then have the flight date changed.
If anyone could shed some light on this and stop my confusion i would be very grateful.

I am not totally sure but maybe On the beach have a certain amount of seats to sell on that particular Monarch flight, maybe on the Monarch website it is showing no flights for that date as they have sold the allocation they had? beware with On the beach as I distinctly remember reading on here that when someone booked a flight with them it does not initialy take the payment and then you receive an email pretty soon after making the original booking saying that flight has now gone up by x amount of money!have never booked with them so cant comment personally but have looked often at their website for flights to Dalaman and they seem to have good priced flights :)

maybe try www.skyscanner.net
that will bring up all flights available for your specifications - you then follow the link for the flight you want to check out - the web site selling should show the same price/flight/date etc and they usually match up in terms of accuracy as shown on skyscanner
good luck

I just replied on your other Monarch topic and a similar thing happened to us - we flew Monarch to Rhodes, it was a Monarch plane, Monarch staff, Monarch flight number and many people in the check in queue had Monarch confirmation print outs and tickets. We didn't - we had booked our flights with Olympic Airlines, our tickets were Olympic Airlines and our flight number was Olympic. So I assume different companies share flights. This also happened on an Alitalia flight I booked which was about £90 cheaper than Air France - when we got to the airport, what flight do you think we were on? The Air France one of course :D
I don't give it much thought these days, if the times are the same, it's the same plane - nothing to worry about.

I just checked and ZB is the flight code for Monarch scheduled flights, so that explains it.

Thanks all for your replies.
Scunner do you think Mon code is therefore a chartered flight code?
I am still a bit dubious as the Monarch website isnt offering this flight.
Sorry I am bit of a worrier.
-
Dont worry, Monarch aren't offering this flight as they do not have any seats to sell. Onthebeach have bought them.
-
Yes, MON is the charter code - I don't think Monarch have any scheduled flights to Dalaman.

Foosey,
Try Airflights or Monarch direct but you are correct if they have no Monarch planes avalible they get other companies in. We usally fly from Luto or Stansted.

Airflights are one of the companies as well as Travel republic that are bringing up the Monarch flight from Luton on Saturday. [?]

Spot on Keith. All Monarch charter flights are MON and all their scheduleed are ZB. I know cos our Joanne is a stewardess with them :D

Monach flies out of Luton @ 15.50 on a Saturday and returns Dalaman 22.50 landing @ 01.15 Sunday morning. Same this year as last. :)

I would avoid booking with 'on the beach' like the plague, had a very bad experience with them and they rate in my book as being one of the most unhelpful travel companies I have ever dealt with, I do find travel republic very good and professional and offer good flights with good companies.
