It's today Colwyn so only 5 more hours to go.

The panic was sparked by rumours that seismologist Raffaele Bendandi, who died in 1979, predicted the city would be devastated by a quake on 11 May.

Not really Heather

"The quakes occurred in a seismically active area near a large fault beneath the Mediterranean Sea where the European and African continents brush past each other, USGS seismologist Julie Dutton said.

The USGS said it has recorded hundreds of small quakes in the area since 1990."

Still bad enough when there is loss of life John

Two earthquakes struck southeast Spain in quick succession Wednesday, killing at least 10 people, injuring dozens of others and causing major damage to buildings, officials said.

Of course it is bad enough and the loss of life and injury is terrible.

But.....

I don't know alot about seismology but I'd be fairly confident if I said there was going to be an earthquake next Wednesday, I'd be proved correct.

Got you....yes agreed it is not rocket science. In some areas  of the world it is the norm.
I have felt two earthquakes.  One in Crete the other in our own bonnie Scotland.
