Can anyone please recommend a boat for private use for a day out comfortable for 12 persons (not a large one)- we have used Captain Tom's and Agean Soul (Captain Deniz) in the past but think more suitable for smaller groups.

Try the Calis water taxis, they will hire out for the day and provide great food, the cost is 350 TL.

Really good boat trips and agree the food is far superior to the larger boats and you then have a choice of the music etc. And cake in the afternoon on the way home...

Hi Calvin, How much did you pay and for how many people?

Seem to think it was 500 TL ,then it is up to you how many people you take,we took a party from Uzumlu and it worked out at 30TL per couple

Totally agree Calvin Toraman boat is great food fantastic,Mehmet and his wife do a wonderful job.500tl and that is with transfer to Fethiye

if you wanted the calis trip they will often have other people who can make up the numbers to make the price more affordable.... :)

Beware anyone booking Agean Soul as (Captain Deniz) does not have a full captains licence,also I have been told that when he does trips without his girlfriend on board he is a bit of a pest to young girls.

we've always used veli at the water taxis 6 years lovely family lovely food. can take 10 - 12 people. if you haven't enough people in your group he will find other people to make up the numbers. it works out about £12 a person plus drinks

Thanks everyone for all the info - Calvin really like the look of your recommendation and have contacted for price - I didn't realise you could hire the calis taxi boats so that is also on consideration. In regards Agean Soul twice we have used and have been impressed!

We hired a private boat last summer called Lady Christina from Fethiye harbour and I have to say it was the best day of out holiday. The boat is very modern and new and the hosts Christina and her partner were very welcoming. The cost isnt cheap at 600 lira a full day and fabulous food is included we are definatly booking again this year. There were 10 in our party but am not sure what the max is. If you do a search on the forum there are photos and details. They also do a sunset cruise for 400 lira. I can honestly say if you book this boat you will not regret it and will talking about it for a long time. I have also made a new friend in Christina.So memorable.

Phil - I totally echo re Lady Christina - something exceptionally special ! Food, Boat and hospitality beyond any other boat we have chartered. (and we have done a few over the years !). Christina and Sami make the day very very special. And oh boy....the food......mmmmmmmm

Last time I saw it, it was up on blocks in the boatyard.....anyone know if it is back in the water yet [?]

We bumped into Christina at the market in May and she told us that the boat was having its bottom scraped (painful !), but that they were going to be very busy throughout the season. As this was a month ago now, I suspect she is back riding the waves.
