Can anyone tell me how to cure a couple of problems I have with Windows 7?
1. When typing I find letters are missed out altogether or letters get doubled up so I constantly have to check otherwise I'm writing gobbledegook.
2. My cursor sometimes gets a small scroll bar attached to it and the screen whizzes up and down. Very annoying when I am trying to negotiate a web page.
I have a new Toshiba laptop which came with Windows 7 ready loaded.

1: When typing what/where/using what program? If you mean MS Word or similar it would have nothing to do with W7. Possible reasons may be you are accidentally using the palm of your hand on the laptops pad & not realising it.
2: This sounds like you have double clicked on the scrollbar when using a webpage, it's designed to do this so just be careful when you scroll you don't double click at the sme time. Again I don't think it's to do with W7.
If both of those are wrong take the laptop back (just kidding!).

Not sure about 1. so far but for problem 2 - does your laptop touchpad have arrows or similar down it's right hand side? If you catch that rather than the 'main' part of the touchpad it is similar to scrolling with a mouse wheel clicked - hyperspeed 8)

Actually, it could be that even if it doesn't have arrows on the right hand side. Right hand side = faster :)

Thank you both.
1. Typing in MS Word is OK. It only happens when I am doing emails/typing in web pages, etc.
2. My laptop has a flat touch pad, no side buttons. Could be I'm touching the right hand side. I'll try and remember what my old typing teacher used to slap our hands for - keep those wrists up!!!

get a mouse, so much easier than all that finger work, especially if you have hands like shovels. :)

Sounds like the problem could lay between your keyboard and your chair :D
