Hi FiG are holding a summer fair in the park and along the strip of bars that include Vals, Irland and Kismet bar a week on Saturday 18th June starting 4 30pm
:D
We have teams for a Tug O War competition but we are without a rope! :-\
Does anyone know of someone with suitable rope that we could borrow for the day? I know we could go and buy but we at FiG like to keep our costs as low as possible so that the vast bulk of money raised goes to the various projects we fund
We are running teams of 8 in a knockout style competition so something suitable for that would be ideal
Thank you in advance and with everything crossed :D:D:D

Conact Pete or Chrissie at CCC I think we have a rope we used for our tug o war

Hi Julie I am certain we have a rope. I will ask Pete and Chrissie where it is and deliver it for you. I am sure we can help you out. Anne

Hi
Thank you lots !!!:D

Hi Julie we purchased a Tug of War rope when we organised the Calis Carnival. This was borrowed by the Calis Association for this year's Calis Carnival so Pete will contact Mete to get it returned so you can borrow it. Don't forget you will need gloves for the teams (these can be purchased cheaply at any hardware shops) or there are going to be some very sore hands.

Hi Thanks again Chrissie and Anne, can you let us know if there is any problems locating the rope asap
And again thanks for your help I hadnt thought of gloves, will go Yapi market for them

I'd recommend using a hemp or sisal rope since a nylon or polypropylene one is prone to stretch with devastating consequences if it snaps. It does depend on the numbers/force in each team however. You'll see what I mean if you google 'tug of war accident'. There are many going back over the years. Best to be aware.

I Dont know whether its Sisal or hemp but its certainly one of those, its definately not a man made material, but thanks for the advice anyway
