Title: Internet connection
Post by: peecee on June 18, 2011, 08:29:12 AM
Haven't really got a clue what I'm talking about but someone will!!
Can anyone tell me where (and what) I can buy so that I can get internet connection at my house without a phone line?  Is it a dongle or something?  Also how much, how long they last etc.  Many thanks all

yes if you go into vodafone or turkcell etc you can buy a 3g dongle i think i paid 100ytl that's for the device then you need a sim card just like your mobile phone sim that you can buy time on. In may I paid about 25ytl for a week unlimited but they do all types of time deals

Any ideas for a connection on ipad2 with 3G whilst I'm away?  I don't have a mini sim or anything in it yet as it's new (aren't I the lucky one!) but do want to get on-line whilst in Calis apart from in bars etc

118 TL for the full kit and 4 gig of usage. Don't try and watch movies or you will be topping it up every week

39 TL for a top up of 4 gig , which can last up to one month if you are carefull.

Between this at home and the free set ups on the cordon, not a problem any more.

Another alternative is to do what I do and find someone close by who has internet  and will allow you ....for a fee...to use their connection. I have no land line so asked at a shop nearby if I could use their signal. I pay 25 lira a month for unlimited use and he even moved his aerial so I could pick up a stronger signal. Have had no problems and have been using this method for some time now plus he is grateful for the 25 lira towards his internet costs
