Every year I manage to take something ridiculous on holiay to Turkey with me - This time a car air fresher - I'm fed up of our hire car stinking of smoke, so this time i have purchased a "magic tree" type air freshner - it's in my hand luggage (using as a book mark) for the journey - and then once we have the car,i'm going to hang it in the window for the duration.
Anyone else packed a ridiculous item for their holiday?

I've just packed a dozen or so "original" Vanilla Magic Trees, not much good to me on a scooter but I'll find a use in the loo or somewhere when I move over, can't throw them out as they smell gorgeous & last ages!
-
Emmmmm...8 boxes of double choco mocha's for Linda...lol
-
2 dinner sets and 2 mug sets, they nearly broke my shoulder carrying them :0
-
3 ceiling fans and two crash helmets on the same trip

The first year coming out to Calis - a cardigan - even though we were out in July. I have the poorest circulation and was worried about chilly nights. Safe to say it wasn't used once and not packed last year! :D

carpets and rugs!

2 Glass fronted lights from Ikea, before they opened one in Turkey

At work with a hangover[xx(][xx(][xx(].

Don't know if this is classed as "ridiculous"
But seemed strange...
Having left the car at the airport removed the car radio and took it on holiday not once but twice.
That said, not sure what we could have done with it[?]
Dave.

I arrived in February for my new life with a guinea pig salt & pepper set and a Tupperware egg spoon, thinking I would walk into somewhere fully furnished.
That was a bit ridiculous!

hubblebubble is right, Nipon was one of the things we always used to ask people to bring out :) Probably the most ridiculous of all our goods was that we brought apple tea with us when we moved to Turkey [:o]
-
Sorry Keith - but that IS ridiculous! I'm sure there's a story behind it...

Of course :D
We bought some Apple Tea on holiday in a box with really nice cay glasses and spoons - just the job, except we never used them and the next time it turned up was when we were moving to Turkey and filling up the packing case known as "kitchen stuff". We decided to chuck it in and in coals to Newcastle style it returned on a container to Turkey. I can't recall using it there either.
Moving to another country is a great way to declutter, as is moving back. With that in mind, how did we accumulate so much stuff, some of which is still in boxes, for when we moved last month [:o]

Exactly the same! in fact all the stuff Turkish people had bought us over the years has ended up back in Calis. Plus, magazine rack, bedding, silk lillies, cd player, bistro nets with rods amd nails for horses hooves!!!! Beat that!:D
