Anyone know, from experience of driving there? I see there is one way, going on Denizli road for a bit then going above Isparta and arriving from 'north'. But I am betting its a rugged tedious road. Or from Kemer/Antalya arriving from the southern end. Maybe there's a third option. Any help would be much appreciated. Preferrably someone who had experience of the route, rather than looking at a map. Thanks

We have done the journey to Isparta we followed the Antalya road to Korkoteli then took the the D 650 towards Budur then turned right after Bujak following that road till we hit the D685 which takes you to Isparta. The roads were good and pretty quiet on that occasion. If we wanted to go direct to Isparta that is the journey we would take. There are a host of detours we took but we were on a tour of the Turkish Lakes. We find the Euro Map of Turkey the most accurate.

Yep, what ovacik2 said. That's the way I've been too.

Smashing, thanks SO much. If things go quiet for a week or two, you'll know I somehow went astray ;)

I've never done it Rindz, but having checked a map I agree with those two ;)
-
Me too, LOL!! I am now wondering how long it'll take.
-
Well, if it follows the same rules as driving to Antalya, it is 2.5 hours x 1.5 more for each time you do it :D
-
I hope I wont have to do it more than once. Though I have been told there's a restaurant there that does the most fantastic crab meal, but Isparta looks like a biggish place and I bet I can't find it, *duh*.

Roughly 5 and a half to 6 hours driving. But of course you've got to add time to that for admiring the scenery and having a meal, or 2.

6 hours ONE WAY???

Not the most exciting City to visit. Manufacturing carpets and producing rose water are the main "industries" All the areas around have wonderful Turkish Roses. Not the usual history. The lakes not too far away are certainly worth the visit. From Fethiye / Isparta 250 +- Km. Hope you enjoy the Crabs!!!

Forced to go there, visiting hospital. :( Thanks for Kilometerage. ;) Add on 50 for me getting lost IN Isparta.

Egridir is worth visiting, nicer than Isparta.South towards antalya is the town of Aglasun. Sargalassos, about 5 km from there is worth seeing.Has a Roman library with a large mosaic floor, a theatre and temple.

Sadly no time to stop to smell the flowers, as it were. But I did spot a really weird vehicle. A long black engine/tank/cylinder with maybe 4 women either side of it. So, there were two at the front and another three alone each side. It was in the farming area and I wondered what the heck it could have been. Possibly something used to ride between rows of roses whilst picking the flowers?? -Anyone have a clue?

Has anyone gone to Isparta by bus? If so, can they say how long it takes and if its one bus all the way...

I have an American friend who taught at the University in Isparta for a year - when she came to visit she got a bus from Isparta to Antalya just under 2.5 hours and then the bus from Antalya to Fethiye - there were other buses but she wanted to arrive in Fethiye at a sensible time so that she would be able to find my apartment.

Tokat Yildiz coach leaves Fethiye 1600 and arrives about 2130.
