Just flew Dalaman to Cardiff with Onur Airlines.Dick Turpin was a trolley dollie.A can of 330ml coke and 330ml Fanta Orange 8euro = £7.60p. I Gave them back and opted to purchase a small bottle of water with my Turkish lira at a astonishing price of 7.50tlr.
Also regarding Onur canceling flights the Bristol flight was canceled and merged onto this Cardiff flight then a coach to Bristol.
I believe Onur are going to cancel a flight Manchester to Dalaman 12th September 11 as it has mysterious disappeared from there booking web page. A friend is booked to travel on it.
Will use Easyjet.

Gerry, there is a lot of information of what others think of Onur Air, good and bad if you use the search facility at the top right hand side of the page and look in the Flights section.
-
Have just recieved a notification of amended flight details
02/08/11 Edinburgh to Dalaman flight no OHY 4152 changed from departure 9.40am to 8.10am but arrival time only decreased by 5 mins. I have rung them and they say the flight is going via "somewhere" but they did'nt know where this would be. Has any one had any exprience of which route we might be taking ? I know we have heard it all before but have used Onur Air many times and this is the first hiccup, at least it's not cancelled. Return flight times changed but still the same length of time on the flight.
-
Some friends recently went via Bodrum, so don't know whether this is the "somewhere" in question
-
Buddy,I am a 'fan' of Onur Air and have used them often with no complaint but I have been watching their flights recently and have noticed that a few Glasgow/Edinburgh to Dalaman flights have become Glasgow/Edinburgh to Birmingham to Dalaman flights.
Our return flight in June was half empty so it looks as if tourism is down for this year when they have to consolidate so many flights at peak times.
-
My daughter's so mad with them Never used them before but booked her flight from Doncaster in August. It's been changed to Manchester and since then, the time's been changed as well. It's costing her money now to drive to Manchester and pay for car parking. Not a happy bunny!!!
-
Onur have been known to fly to Dalaman from Scotland via Belfast before!

Or maybe people have got so brassed off with "oh no air" that they just give them a miss when given the choice.
Shame decent airlines have gone down the pan recently and unscrupulous operators like these continue to operate and generally don't give a dam where or even if they drop you in the uk.
They seem to bamboozle people into booking with them with offers of cheap fares but around 75% of these flights will be altered or cancelled and you could well end up with a mystery tour around uk airports and then another mystery coach tour before getting to where you want to be sometimes 3 or 4 days later than you wanted.
Probably gathered by now I would not touch them with a bargepole.
-
If you buy cheap flights, like me,you take a chance.
I have used Onur Air for the past 5/6 years with no major problems. No changes of dates/departure or arrival airports. Some slight changes to departure times but nothing drastic.
One 10 hour delay with them in September 2010 but I have had long delays with other airlines including a 26 hour delay with a UK based carrier.
The various CBF postings on Onur Air I would say come out in support of them.
At their low prices I will continue to chance it.

just had an email from aegean flights saying my onur flight from dalaman to doncaster 19th october has been cancelled due to no flights going from doncaster all season.I booked my flight in december 2010 so i cannot understand why they have waited all this time to tell me.

because they wanted to hold on to the full cost of the flights you paid in Dec 10????

Just contacted Aegean Flights again, looks like we are going from Edinburgh via Belfast. What is normally about a 4 hour flight just turned into 6 hours. We needed to let our transfers know our arrival time but it was difficult extracting the information from Aegean.
We flew from Glasgow in May and had a 6 hour delay which meant we got dropped of at PJs bar just in time to catch the last 15 mins of the Champions Leage final, I suppose we have something to thank Onur for.
-
Not so much of a prat statement now Kenkay. Trying to get information out of Aegean weeks ago leads me to believe they knew they was in trouble and yet they advised to add an extra person to the booking and change it and fly on the 11th September, even changed £30 for a name change. Not much of a prat now am I. David
-
Geraldine, if you read my posts I did not call you a prat, or even refer to you in any way at all.
My wife and children flew to Dalaman with Onur Air on Tuesday, so they now need to try to establish how and when they will get home, I am following in a couple of days with Thomson flights so hopefully I will be OK.
Despicable how Aegean Flights could be still trying to entice people to part with more money when they knew the flights would not be fulfilled. luckily we delayed our decision on booking the cheap flights for 2012.

wish we had:(
-
We have always been a bit dubious booking with these budget airlines and normally book with Thomson even though its costs more. I hope everyone gets themselves sorted and manage to get refunds. Such a horrid situation. Good luck everyone.
-
Buddy - Gerry was referring to Kenkay who called him a prat further back in the thread.
-
Were Aeagen and Holidays 4U budget companies?? I could never see cheap prices with them not as cheap as some of the TC or Thomson flight prices - perhaps just badly managed companies!
-
With the collapse of Holidays 4u/Aegean this does not mean that Onur Air have gone bust does it[?]

No, Onur Air is a seperate company H4U/Aegean used them for most of their flights 8)
-
I guess there could be a knock on effect though?...
-
I would imagine Onur Air will be finding themselves a new agent in UK next year?
-
Perhaps for 2012 Onur Air will finally begin to start selling their international flights direct and online without the need to use a uk based agent. Something after the collapse of Aegean/H4U would (I think)be far better for customers only looking to book flight only deals.
-
I would imagine Onur Air would more likely be looking never to get tied up with a UK agent in this way ever again!

Probably very true - UK is not the only market for visitors to Turkey I suppose :-\
-
I guess it depends on whether Onur got burned in all of this - I assume if they had been paid for the plane journeys then they just saved a fortune in not having to fly them but also quite possibly have far too many planes now, looking towards next year. The financial relationship between H4u and Onur would be very interesting to learn.
