Is it ok to bring in vacuum packed bacon into turkey or is there a restriction on meats and foods crossing borders?

Officially it's banned, but if you're sensible about it you'll probably get away with bringing some in.

There was a thread similar to this recently.  We used to bring in bacon, but you can buy really good bacon in the Pork shop now, so you don't really need to bring it over.  If it was up to me I would prefer the weight of a pair of shoes in my bag to a packet of bacon.

I find them to be a bit leathery even with HP sauce.

Where is the pork shop?
The last bacon we found was so thin you could see through it

There's 3 pork shops, one on the main road away from the front in Calis, one virtually opposite the Tansas maxi supermarket & the 3rd is just beyond the otogar going towards Olu Deniz. I usually use the one by Tansas, but only cos it's closest to home

We buy from the Pork shop opposite Tansas.  They have fresh bacon in the chill cabinet at the counter and it's really good stuff, quite thick and not a lot of fat on it.  The pork sausage they have are good too.
