Thank you for your reply.I went in Feb from Stanstead landed at the domestic terminal then non Turkish were bused to main term to pick up our bags, they opened up just for our flight. It was full from the UK so do not understand why airlines do not use the route with so many Brits living near Dalaman also the weather was lovely.

The alternative last winter was to fly to Antalya & take the bus to Fethiye, which is around 3.5 - 4 hours.

Hi all,

We flew to Antalya and then hired a car. Driving over the mountains was great and only took 2.5 hrs. The road is very good with small towns to stop for lunch or petrol. We also did Istanbul then to Dalaman, this was easier but more expensive but both were an experience!!!!

Easy jet fly from Luton to Sabiha Gokcen during the winter, but either have to wait until 20.05 for onward flight to Dalaman, and flight arrives from Luton at 13.15, or fly on a saturday from Luton, arrive in Istanbul at 19.45, stay overnight and get the 06.30 flight the next morning to Dalaman.

Pegasus are not showing outward flights from the end of Oct yet,i know its going to be a long trip did it in Feb, i live in Solihull with Birmingham airport 10 mins away it seems crazy that come the end of Oct all flights stop not just to Turkey but to many holiday resorts,TC told me Brits go skiing in winter so their planes are used on those routes. Will get there somehow even if it takes me 2 days !!!!

I thought Pegasus weren't showing flights but you have to search the different legs separately so Stansted to Istanbul 1st and then Istanbul to Dalaman. If you try searching Stansted to Dalaman then it doesn;t show any flights. I booked for January, really good prices.

I think the Dalaman - Stansted or Stansted - Dalaman Pegasus flights should show after mid to end of september. If you book Dalaman - Sabiha Gokcen and Sab Gok - Stansted separately, not sure if your luggage would be taken through automatically. Also, not much time to check in again at Istanbul, if you have to do so,and luggage allowance for domestic flights is lower at 15 kilos.

Although the legs are booked separately they are both booked on the same booking and under the same reference and are classed as connecting. The luggage will therefore be transferred and we also have 20kg for the domestic leg. When you are in the booking it gives you the option to add another flight which is what we did.

Just booked easyjet from luton for December £57 rtn. Then it's a short walk to domestic terminal for Pegasus to Dalaman £23rtn
There is a 5/6 hr delay between flights but well worth it for the price. We will probably stay a couple of days in Istanbul on our return so will go back to airport at appropriate time so no waiting around.

Normally Pegasus do the Stansted to Dalaman flight via Istanbul where you do get both tickets at Stansted and luggage is taken on the next flight, but it is a short turn around. As another posting says, maybe these will be offered again in Sept. But I have just booked their 2 seperate flights leaving Stansted at 22.20 and the Istanbul to Dalaman flight 2 and a half hours after arriving at Istanbul. Should give plenty of time to collect luggage and book in for the domestic leg, both flights costing £55 in total.
