Plastic daffodils with Daz. We had some very weird neighbours that used to regularly hang them on the washing line for days on end!

The Beezer used to give away those triangular clapper things but it wasn't only cereals and comics Jules. I remember plastic roses being given away with packets of Daz and photographs of football teams (the old Division 1 teams) with Typhoo Tea. What about the pretend Tiger tails that you could get if you bought enough petrol and you hung them on the outside your petrol cap? Put a Tiger in your tank with ......?

Just how long is Memory Lane?

Kensitas used to have those vouchers and we 'bought' stuff for our first house with some that Mum gave us as a gift.  http://www.flickr.com/photos/robertpool/3928928537/  Ant to the right of the Kensitas vouchers, you can see embassy and Senior Service vouchers. :D

Brook Bond Tea Cards.  Birds of the world I can remember, but there were more, can anyone remember them?

Esso also gave away coins of players during the 1970 world cup, I remeber this as I used to help out at the local garage/petrol station.

But the real joy was having a good comic, the Victor being a particular favourite of mine for Alf Tupper 'Tough of the track'.  However, when it came to the cream of comics, I am afraid the yanks had it won hands down, with the likes of Batman, Superman, Flash,Green Lantern and all the other super heros.  More magazine than comic, with the fantastic artwork and colour, plus you could always order an ant farm:D  And of course there was MAD, still about I believe.

Jules I don't remember Bensons having vouchers - they were at the higher class end of the fag range!! - but I certainly remember the Presents Mrs Tickets and myself smoking enough No6 or Embassy (can't remember which) before we got married to redeem our vouchers for a frying pan set - consisting of a frying pan and spatcheler:D - for the first home.

My old Gran used to collect Green Shield stamps and you could redeem these for goods at the large shop in town.
She also got stamps when shopping in the Co-op, which, when the book was full could have money taken off your bill.
Happy memories.

The cut out doll on the back of the Bunty.  I would glue the doll on to cardboard, happily cut out all the little clothes with the fold on tabs and store them in envelopes.  I had hundreds....

Also the toys free in cereals.  I specifically remember collecting the Sooty and Sweep models.  They were always in the cereal bag and would be at the bottom.  Mum would never let us put our hand in to find it and we had to wait until they were near enough all eaten....

Regarding the cigs I seem to recall we smoked Embassy when we'd just been paid but No.6 if it was the end of the week and a bit skint!!

Definitely saved the coupons though, we got allsorts of stuff with them when we got married 38 years ago!   :)
