Hi all
we will be arriving in 3 weeks time for our second visit
last year we did the 3 island, jeep safari and sunset cruise all booked with carole&tayfun
this year i would love to do a boat trip to olu deniz but carole and tayfun dont do this trip :D:D
can anyone recommend a good company that do this trip and also recommend any other trips that we should do
oh and i should add i have a special needs son who is 15 (he is not physically disabled)
i did use the search button but couldnt find specifically what i wanted
many thanks in advance :D:D

If you go down to the Calis Water Taxi's they will help you out
-
You would probably need to do this as part of a Gullet cruise as Olu Deniz would be a bit far to do in a day.
-
Dont think theyre keen on doing this trip. I understand it can be very choppy getting around from Fethiye to Olu Deniz and I've heard horror stories of people having to disembark in the middle of the sea and swim ashore!
-
Gulp!!! As a non swimmer I can safely say that this will be one boat trip I WONT be doing.

I would have thought a dolmus would sink H? ;)
Seriously I was told that its a good 3 hour sail from Olu to Fethiye.

thanks very much for all your replies
wow i didnt realise that olu deniz was so far away by boat lol
maybe i will stick to carole and tayfun and do the 3 island cruise as we all really enjoyed doing the boat trips last year
unless anyone else has any other suggestions to places we can go on a boat trip
many thanks as always its a fab forum keep up the good work

You could get a dolmus down to Olu Deniz and go on a boat trip from there, but they dont have jetty so you have to walk in the sea a little to board the boats
Or some of the Fethiye boats do the Blue Bays tour instead of 12 Islands That takes you around the bay past Letoonia, Hillside etc More relaxing than 12 Islands
-
Thanks julesp i will try to google blue bays tour and see what i can find
it sounds lovely

I see that nearly everyone on CBF recommends small boats for a quiet trip. But I always enjoy going on those big double-deckers, especially if they are crammed with Turkish families having a grand day out. And yes, I enjoy playing those silly games on the way back if they do that One time I shared first prize with a huge jolly Turk. This was for playing a game in which a number of volunteers had to sit on a chair in front of all the other passengers and enact driving a very old, broken down car, that was difficult to start and making as much noise as possible. What we volunteers didn't know was that all the other passengers had been told that we werte enacting going to the toilet and having a bit of difficulty. Very tacky and low-brow of me; but its the sort of thing one only does when on holiday.

You have to go to Fethiye and change to the Olu Deniz Dolmus. If you stay on the Fethiye Dolmus until the end of its run by the Mosque you just get off and straight onto the Ol Deniz Dolmus, as thats where the Olu Deniz Dolmus starts from you shouldnt have trouble with it being packed

Depending on how many of you are travelling it may be less stressful to have a taxi.Compare how much it would it cost for you on a dolmus, there may not be a lot of difference in the price of travelling there.
-
Thanks for that suggestion both of you
do you know how much a taxi would cost approximately?
thankyou
-
Don't know price of taxi but there would need to be a few people as the dolmus is 4.5tl per person one way.

if you look at fethiyextreme (on facebook )run by sherif he does a trip on a high speed rib seats about 12 to olu deniz
