This will probably sound a silly question to ask :-\ but.....do you need to own a property in Turkey in order to open a bank account please?
-
No, lots of people renting out here have bank accounts
-
But you do need a tax number
-
So do you need a Turkish address? Can a UK resident who is just visiting get a tax number and then open an account?
-

Yes, I did this on my last visit, they asked me for my parents full names & I needed to show my passport, job done in 10 minutes!

Parents names? You must have opened a 'Junior Plus Account' Supa :)

That made me smile TJ, I'm a mere 52 next birthday & my parents long gone, bless them both! Why they needed those details I don't know but I got my tax number so no worries!

I think you need passport, a Turkish tax number, and a couple of recent utility bills showing your UK address. If you want internet access to your account ask the bank to set it up for you. You will need to register a mobile phone number with your bank as all Turkish banks now send you a text with a "one time use" pin to access your internet account.
