Title: AEGEAN INDEPENDENT - The End
Post by: Fastlady on July 27, 2011, 05:10:38 AM
I wondered why I hadn't seen the Independent for a while..... seemingly they have decided to cease business, for economic reasons.

I know the newspaper has had some recent bad publicity with regard to its features about street dogs etc, but I did think their coverage of local news and events was better than most of the other local free papers who appear to be just a succession of adverts.  I will miss the Independent and wish David all the best with his future ventures.

It did carry some stories without enough research. It was good for local news as you say and he did give is good free publicity and coverage for the the 3Cs events.

It's sad to hear - I know how difficult it is to have a business over there. I also know how hard it is to run something and try to please everyone. I gave up trying to years ago :D Good luck to them for the future.

Yes, the Estate agency is still going on, and so busy are they that they have recently employed a very fluent English - speaking Turkish man to cope with the volume of business. I wish them every success, but am sorry that this volume of business means we will lose this enjoyable newspaper.
