I am sat on my terrace in Akarca Calis and my thermometer is reading 29c or 84f and the time is nearly 11.35pm, looked at the thermometer this afternoon it read 38c or 100f, thats in the shade.

Just got back from Malta had a change from calis its 45 phew

Phil's fancy temp thingy has been reading 42 - 48 in our garden the last couple of days. Today the heat felt quite oppressive to be honest.

ooh , sounds a bit too hot, can someone have a word with Mr Sun to drop a few degrees in the next few weeks please. 8)

Still far too hot for me to come out for a holiday, I am suffering with the heat here in the UK with temps between 24-28c, how I ever survived 6 years in Turkey is beyond me.

That is exactly where I find myself Loz. Spain was 29 to 33 most days and up to ten degrees drop in the late evening. It seems impossible to comprehend how I managed 5 summers in Turkey and now I'd struggle to do a week. Certainly our main July/august holiday won't be Turkey anymore, we'll return to the old days of May and/or September in Calis.

Thank goodness you answered I thought it was just me and hot flushes:D 8)

Exactly Thats why Im here at past 2 am on the laptop cos even outside the heat given off from it is too much in the daytime to use, My 6th summer here and it doesnt get easier, Ramazan starts today I really dont know how they will cope. And as I said here earlier on FiG page a BIG thank you to all the shop volunteers for working in this heat and keeping the shop open

You survived because your blood thinned down and you weren't carrying that thick blood around LOL. Now in my 16th year of living outside the UK and I know where I would rather be as the UK weather is not consistent, never sure if you're going to get a summer and changes from one day to the next. Acons, fans,(beer moderately),parasols, sea breeze and plenty of shade available, NO CONTEST.cheers
