A bit scruffy (fronted by old conservatory type furniture)
Good place for a pre dinner drink and a bitch at anybody passing
A bit confusing (Thought the sign Obens was "opens" mispelt)
Step down into the restaurant
Really superb food
Try the warm walnut/yoghurt starter
warm bread
lamb chops
No room for a pudding
Complimentary tea or coffee
Really friendly owner
Very attractive waitress
Worth a second visit.
Located at the end of the prom proper, next door to Mimosa frontage.

We often stop there for a snack or a cold beer but have never tried their main meals.

Tried Oben after recommendation from the forum really enjoyed both meals we had over last 2 weeks , staff very friendly

went there last year.asked for veg no rice no chips with my meat
& that is what i got . it was superb. going again this year

I actually enjoy the token rice chips and salad.
If I want veg, I will often have as a seperate dish maybe as a starter.
We stayed over in Patara a few nights in Jukly at the golden pension.Had fasuylie for starters.Couldnt decide whether to have hot or cold. So we had one of each.Both lovely

MMM Obens was the best food we tried in the whole two weeks we were there last year, we did go to some of the "posh" restaurants, and Obens shone out for the food and the staff. In fact we had the best meals of all our holiday in here. Good for pre and post dinner drinks watching the world go by.
Am going back this September and will definately be going to Obens, food is home cooked by Oben's mother and sister and was absolutely delicous, a real taste of Turkey.

A big favourite of ours and our family.Our eldest daughter is vegetarian
and is well catered for by Mama Oben!

Always use Oben's when in Calis, great food, reasonably priced, family run, Oben great guy, food normally cooked by "Mama" who cooks the best chips in the province ! :)

We had a nice cooling drink there today. Nice breeze which was very welcome in this weeks heat. Lovely chips. Lovely sandwiches and service with a smile.

Was just gonna say the same me ole mucker, furniture been re upholstered, lovely and comfy, cool setting in the shade and chips to die for, just the place to while away for a few hours.

We have just returned from Calis and we went to Obans three times .It is so good going to eat someplace and feel so welcome.The food and service was first class on each visit.Even when it was busy Mama and daughter in the kitchen never got flustered.We always finished our second bottle of wine on the comfy chairs watching the world go by..............slowly.If you cant be at peace with the world sitting there you are in trouble.Lovely setting Lovely food good service and decent price.What more could you ask for.

I agree with everyone else! Lovely food, excellent service with a smile, and they will "amend" meals to your liking - more spicy etc. My daughter's boyfriend ordered piri piri chicken the other week, and it was HOT! There was just so much of it, we all tucked in (despite being full!) - it was yummy! Really would recommend this place!

Have eaten at Obens Restaurant over the years for breakfast, lunch and dinner food always lovely traditional staff/family welcoming would recommond any one to try it

First visited Obens about 5 years ago and have never looked back. Would highly recommend it to anyone, very friendly staff, good home cooked food - prepared when ordered aswell so always fresh. Will even cook food that isnt on the menu if you ask.
Nothing is ever too much trouble for them - hardley ever eat anywhere else now. Well worth the walk to the end of the prom.

possibly the first place we ate in Calis. When guven and carole was there. Nice to know the standards are being kept up.

Where guven met carol true also it was guvens adopted mum or the person he looked upon as his mum go back many,many,years with guven had some good times there before he moved on down the road,and the mans done well for himself,memories.

And Mum makes the best Esme ever. Shrimps in rosemary,garlic and cream is my favourite meal.

Whoops! Sorry, I must be in the minority, ate there a few nights ago after hearing lots of positive things. Lovely people & very friendly but the food was probably about the worst we have had in nearly 4 weeks of being here. Maybe we chose wrong from the menu so may possibly try again to give it the benefit of the doubt. Meatballs were dry, bland & rubbery & 3 others in the party not too impressed with their ottoman casserole, moussaka & chicken curry. Definitely had much better meals elsewhere & can only say it was very average at most :-(

hi there yes his name is oben really nice man great atmosphere and very good meal ate there 12 nights out of 14 why go anywhere else if you no the food is good. 8)

never been let down with the food at obens....lovley old type real turkey family restaurant...love it there. :) ;D
