Title: Monarch flights
Post by: Cavfan on August 21, 2011, 17:27:43 PM
Has anyone flown monarch recently? Is there any in flight entertainment? Whats the catering like? We are flying with them for the first time in donkeys and have no idea what theyre like these days? Also wanted to know whether to take sarnies or if the in flight catering is ok?
We have a 7am flight so will have no time to get anything before!
Thanks

we flew home with them last month, it was fine, no food and no inflight entertainment, one father of a screaming child was entertainment enough, bless him - lets just say he was stressed!

We flew with Monarch in May.  There was some in-flight entertainment but didn't watch it really.  We had the meals mind and could have managed without!  They were pretty average! Mind you they were edible so if you don't have time to get anything else they'll stop you from going hungry until you get to Calis!

Apart from that the flights were fine!  ;):D

Cavfan - just check if you do actually have the meals included.   Think if you book direct with Monarch you have the choice whether to pay for them or not so you'll know that anyway.  We booked through Travel Republic and flight supplier was Jewel in the Crown so the meals were just included (didn't actually realise this until we got the invoice and it was listed on there).

Other option we've often used is, if there's a Boots in the departure lounge of your airport, get a meal deal to take on board with you.  It's a good cheap option.

Just came back from Calis and used Monarch for the first time. Flights on time both ways, landed early both ways. There is inflight entertainment but its reruns of sitcoms but at least its something to pass the time. Legroom not generous but better than our Thomson flight in May. I would use them again.

Used them at Easter (via Luton).  Great flights - on time and excellent service.  no inflight entertainment on ours, and we grab sandwiches at the airport (always better than airline food ).  Would def use them again.
