Title: how much money can you bring out ?
Post by: patch on August 25, 2011, 21:36:57 PM: how much money ytl can you take out of turkey ? would you be ok changing £2000 and taking it back to uk . to use for your next holiday in turkey . thanks

Post by: Scunner on August 25, 2011, 21:56:33 PM: You can take as much as you like out but be aware that at both your airports (Dalaman & UK) they have the right to seize it if they believe it has come via illegal means and you can't prove otherwise. I think up to £5k is technically allowed at your UK arrival customs. That's the negative answer, to be honest nobody is going to bat an eyelid over £2k, just get it in larger notes and stick it in your purse.

Post by: Julesp on August 25, 2011, 22:20:57 PM: I bought £10 000 out to Turkey with me once in cash cos was cheaper than sending electronically and needed it here for furniture etc.

Anyway no problems but as it was a big envelope stuffed with money i had to put it in my bag, I was paranoid though when my bag had to leave me at security for X Ray, I always feel someone in front of me will pick my bag up after being scanned!!

Post by: Ovacikpeedoff on August 25, 2011, 22:31:36 PM: If you take more than 10,000 Euros in cash into the UK from a country outside the EU you are required to declare to Customs. If you are taking more than 10,000 Euros from the UK to a country outside the EU you also must declare it.
